This is a small but very nice park, staff is friendly and helpful. Beautiful view of the mountains and valley floor. However there is now protection from the wind. We stayed six nights end of Jan 2016. The wind blew every day some days gusting to 50 mph making it hard to be outside. We also had snow one day. If the weather is good this would be a 4 star park. Plus only $14 for water and electricity. We'll stay again if weather is good.

Beautiful mountain desert setting. Lots of rocks & cactus. Hit the trails in the day & star gazing at night. Limited campsites available, reservations recommended for best camp spots. However, hosts do their best to get you in, sometimes using day use for overflow. Very clean, very well maintained & very friendly volunteers.

Very nice and up to date state park campground. All lots are gravel with a pavilion and fire pit. Grounds host approached us in the am to talk about our camper. Very friendly staff. Would stay again

Really pretty state park about 15-20 mins off I 10. Found all sorts of cool rocks on our hike. Dog friendly, but lots of cactus and definitely rattlesnakes, so keep them on a leash! Bathrooms are super nice! $14 a night can't be beat, but make reservations if you can. We ended up in the group camping area because the sites were full, but it was just fine. Camp hosts were the nicest people we've encountered at any rv park!!

| We found a gem!

It’s a great park. Nice shower facility. The visitor center is staffed with a very knowledgeable and friendly gentleman. However, the “gem”we found was Karen! Karen is the campsite host. The place was full, but she managed to get us tucked in to a great spot. She came back to be sure we had everything and answered all of our questions about the area. We hope to go back in the future. We stayed there in a 22 foot motorhome.

| Beautiful Campground up on a Mountain

By user-6462281... on 2018-05-17.

What a pleasant surprise! Beautiful views of the countryside below. The sites were large with several having low rock walls around them. Very nice washrooms and showers. Karen, the camp host was very helpful making sure every need was met. Took the dog on a nice morning hike up the mountain a little with excellent views. The cell service was excellent. I wish I could have stayed at least another day, but alas I had to be back on the road. This Campground will not disappoint. Well worth a visit.

This park was quite a surprise. Tucked up against the mountains and the view was amazing. The hosts doing amazing job in keeping this place clean. The sites were clean and level and the restrooms were amazingly clean. We had a reserved spot and the place was fairly full.

| LOVE this place

Wow! We stumbled on this park by chance. It was basically full by 1:00 but some non amenity spots left so we stayed. And SO glad we did! Host was charming and super helpful! Sites were pretty spread out. Washroom/shower facilities clean warm and nice. Price 14$ for full and 10$ basic/nt There is a dump area, easy access. Now the actual rock hounding part... that s an actual thing! We found TWO thunder eggs and Are really excited to open them up. They are not easy to find but they are there. The guy in the information house was very helpful and they do sell Geodes and Thunder Eggs already opened and for a VERY reasonable price. We bought some further out and they were higher in price. We really enjoyed the views in the park they are spectacular from higher up the trail. Especially the amazing sunsets. Stay two nights for sure here!! At the very least. Town with Walmart and everything you need is about 15 min drive.

Clean, well maintained, good views. As good a place as any to pull in for the night.
