| Over all the park is nice

By user-5852471... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2015-07-25 to 2015-08-01

First, the park is under new ownership/management as of May 2014. "Rollins Restaurant & RV Park" used to be call "Big Sky RV Park". The new owner, Greg Simonson has spent a lot of money fixing up the park. All new facilities, new paved roads in the park, new club house, etc. So here’s my review; Over all the park is nice. All the sites are grass but not facing the right way, in my opinion. You should be facing the lake, instead the RV picture window is facing a berm. The Wi-Fi signal is strong but slow, very intermittent and there is no phone signal for T-Mobile. We had several Wi-Fi outages while staying here. There is a nice restaurant on-site for Breakfast, Lunch and dinner every other Wednesday. The RV park is situated halfway up Flathead Lake along US-93. So about 30 minutes from either Polson to the South or Kalispell to the North for shopping and 1 hour and 15 minutes from the Apgar Visitors Center in Glacier National Park. The staff is friendly, Greg was responsive to my emails with questions before I arrived and very helpful during our stay. Every site has a picnic table, no fire pit (but they do have them in the common areas) and no cable TV. I was able to get a satellite signal, but I think most sites may have difficulty getting a signal in the tall pines. Finally, there’s a lot of road noise from US-93. It’s not too bothersome for sleeping as it does subside at night, but it’s just there and constant. However, if you’re in a tent, it could be very bothersome. I mentioned that the staff is friendly and helpful, but they need training in customer service for the RV side of the business. They do O.K. in the restaurant (RV office and restaurant are the same place), but need to understand the park operations better. When the Wi-FI went down, I would go to the office to let them know. Only one person knew how to reset the system. The others would just say “I don’t know anything about that”. Or the time I had USPS mail sent to me in the park, they did not know where it went. It was in the mail box, but they didn’t even know their own mail box. I know the RV Park is under new management, and this is likely their first season open after the renovations, but the staff should know the basic operations of the park. I’m sure this will get better over time. One final item, they do have a nice boat dock area, and if you don’t bring your own boat, they will rent you a boat. Flathead Lake is quite nice, very clean and very big. I would likely not stay here again for a week, maybe a night or two.

Better spacing than most, grass and trees. Very good wifi, did get satellite in middle row. The bottom row does get loud road noise. We did get one to two bars Verizon. Very friendly people. Would def return.
