Reviews for Rusty's RV Ranch

| Great spot for home base

Wonderful host Rusty knows the area and how to make folks feel welcome. We arrived on a Friday night invited to camp pot luck. Rusty provided delicious chicken tenders everyone else brought side dishes. As first time R V trip we loved it met so many well traveled and friendly folks. The views are open and mountain. Spaces large and some one was around all day. Which made us comfortable to unhook our jeep an explore the many miles of dirt roads in the mountains. Bring what you need as there are limited stores and restaurants. We will be back for world class birding in the spring.

First off, I don't want you to go here because too many people will spoil it! I won't tell you about the HUGE RV spaces, nor the lack of people, nor the fantastic mountain views and I certainly won't mention the most pleasant owners I have ever come across! Dog heaven, yep! People quiet,x dbl yep! Now seriously, don't expect to find local gas or grocery stores, but there is a great museum nearby and lots of rural America.

Off the highway a bit but well worth the time. Great staff and Rusty was wonderful. The stars were awesome and the sunrise/sunset was spectacular. The park is extremely well maintained with large-level sites and they're always working to make it better. We will be back.

Really pretty area and nice campground but be careful or you'll end up feeling hoodwinked. We have a Passport America membership card and said so when registering at their office. Owner never requested the card but did say "OK you're Passport America..." Later realized we were charged full rate. When asked about this, the owner said you didn't show me the card (which was in my pocket at that moment), and declined to adjust the bill. I can understand the typical no refund policy at most rv parks. But it would have been more customer friendly and business savvy. if the owner had simply asked to see the PA membership card. So we lost a discount we qualified for unnecessarily. Another penny-wise and pound-foolish business operation. Won't happen to us ever again!

This season is our 1st snowbird experience and I looked for places off the beaten path. IMO, THIS IS IT!! Very peaceful with nice views of the surrounding mountains. Sites are spread out and set up better than any "resort". Side note is the roads and "pads" are scratched out of the desert floor. It looks like it gets muddy should any heavy rain occur. BUT IT'S ALL PART OF THE ADVENTURE!!! Historic and Natural Monuments are nearby for day trips and exploring. Like past posts reviews you are far from everything. Campers would be advised to bring supplies as a well stocked store is in San Simon on I 10, an hour round trip. Small dog area on west road. Clean facilities. Books to read Worth the trip off Interstate 10
