The camp was super clean and Chris was a great help after mapquest put me in the wrong place. On my next trip thru I will most deffinately stay again
Beautiful lake views and easy off / on the 20 freeway. Sites are all full hookup gravel and neatly mowed lawn. We RV full time from ATLANTA and this is our regular stop off I-20.
2nd time staying and it is a nice place to spend the night or a few days. The owner Chris will reserve a site for you and all you do fill out the form and pay Very few campgrounds are as honest as this one. Will stay here every time I drive west.
At 65' love to find 50amps, pull thru and easy in off interest and big rig friendly. Was level but gravel, dirt sites. Would stay again. Had 42' classA with trailer! Call Chris!! Nov. 2016
Have stayed twice and would not stay anywhere else. Am going west again and will stay here. Honest and clean.
Super convenient off I-20. Pretty lake and lots of grass to walk the pups!! Paperwork was right there at main office when we arrived @7:30. Would stay again--close to Talladega and Birmingham.
Chris is extremely friendly and helpful. Felt welcome. Easy to find And park was clean.
Just a half mile off I20 lies this beautiful lake with fishing and a boat launch. Owners are very nice and we felt welcome.
Pros - Easy access, pretty view of lake, friendly and helpful manager. Cons - Gravel and dirt pad is more dirt than gravel. Narrow sites (and we are a 25' Class B). Electric and water not that easy to access. Electric box on the ground has a metal lid. You will need to kneel on the ground to access the circuit breaker below ground level. Water is forward of electric 6-7 feet. Again the faucet is in the ground under a steel plate and you will have to squat or get on your knees to access. Steady traffic noise from US 20 and the occasional train. No restroom, showers, laundry.
We stayed here on our way to Florida. The staff was very nice and they were on top of it. We have a 36 Ft MH and we fit fine. I have no complaints.
Very convenient to racetrack. About 15-20 mins away. Full hookup. Close together sites. Owner, very friendly and helpful. Many full time residents. Clean! Con.. very noisy. Road and trains close and constant. If that doesn't bother you staying here is great for race.
This was a great place to stay overnight. The roads are a little tight but nothing a larger rig can t handle. Very peaceful and quiet.
We stayed at Safe Harbor for two nights on our way to New Orleans. On the way there we called Chris to let him know that we had broken down and weren't sure if we would make it, until the RV tech diagnosis-ed our problem. Chris said no problem and he would hold our site until we called him back. About 4 hours later we called Chris and told him we would be there but late. Chris texted us our site information and said we could catch up in the AM to register and pay. The site was an awesome pull thru looking right at the Lake. Sites level and the place is very clean and kept up. We will put this place on our favorite stop for this area. Very convenient to Barber Motor Sport Park and Talladega. We stayed in a 40' Class 'A' with a toad. There are train tracks across the street but not bad.
Level spot #112. Train across from road. Quiet otherwise. Beautiful lake and dock below park. Lots of permanent residents. Lots of dogs. $30 and 30 amp. Was able to put our small dog fence around the steps to let our tiny dogs out. Chris was nice and helpful. Thanks again!
Safe Harbor was a great stop over for us on a cross country trip. We only stayed the one night but Chris, the owner, made us feel welcome. Great to work with. Not a lot of amenities but for a one or two night stay it s perfect.
