| Excellent Place to Stay

We stayed here 5 nights we liked it so much. We backed right in to one of the front row spaces facing the water, those are 1st come 1st camp, not reservation sites. We walked to the beach below to view tide pools. We enjoyed watching ships on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and looking over at Victoria Island on the other side. We took pictures of the deer in the campground. This is a great home base from which to tour the area. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. We stayed 10/4 -10/8/16, water and electric fees were $28.00 per night, there is a dump station on the road out of the park.

I would agree with all that has been said about this county park and would add a suggestion: visit the Feiro Marine Life Center in Port Angeles before venturing our to the tide pools so your can better understand and appreciate all you find.

Super friendly host let us pick our spot, all of which had water views. Amazing tidepools, hikes, and beachcombing. We will definately be back. Sites were spacious and had power and water. There is a free tank dump onsite for guests. Well maintained facility, lots of activities, and amazing views.

| A Hidden Local Favorite

One of several local campgrounds/parks created from WWE artillery bases. This one is a Clallam County facility run as both a day - use park and year 'round campground. Camping grounds are divided into three areas; A 3 level terraced area with great views of the shipping lanes of the Strait of Juan DE Fuca, a nearby area of pull thru spaces with filtered views, and a detached area to the west best suited for tents, pick-up campers, and tiny trailers. The "front" RV areas were nicely upgraded a few years ago, and they're really quite nice. Wish they had sewer hook-ups at each site, but that's not going to happen. There's stuff to explore... trails, tide pools, artillery placements, and such, and the views are outstanding. On a clear evening be sure not to miss the evening lights of Victoria B.C. across the Strait! FYI... watch your cell phone roaming! It will probably go to Canter or another Canadian provider about the time you enter the campground. That's potentially an international long distance and roaming fee on some plans!

Salt Creek is a small campground with full service rv sites with amazing views of the ocean and Vancouver Island, but the non serviced sites in the back of the park have really amazing private and unique sites! Lots of surfers stay in the campground. Good playground, lots of families camp here. The bathrooms are way too limited for the number of sites. The bathroom in the rv part has only two toilets and one shower for men and women and on our last day the one and only women s shower coin operated machine as jammed. The shower in the unserviced site was not even operational. Pretty much a self register campground, we didn t see employees or the camp host too often.

The spots were a little dark due to the lack of sunlight from all the big trees so if that is your requirement select a spot out in the open. We loved our stay. Beautiful views and wildlife. Lots of deer and raccoons
