| Came For 1 Night - Stayed 2

Very nice park, with very friendly staff. We were traveling on I-10, heading west & decided to stop for the night. Called park headquarters & spoke to Saul, he told us that there was no way to reserve an RV site, as it was "1st come, "1st serve, but there were empty sites available". We decided to chance it and headed for the park. Glad we did!! Awesome park, and awesome views! You don't want to miss this park - great history, & quiet place to stay. RV sites are located at the back, high end of the parking lot, with full hook-ups. Because you are higher you have a great view of the beach and water. When coming to the park, if you are heading west be sure to try and come down Box Canyon Rd. - very nice drive with beautiful desert fauna - be sure to stay on the paved road though! We saw 1 guy that had pulled his trailer off the road to try and get to a shaded spot and was stuck up to his axles in the sand - wasn't anything I could do to help him. Fees were $28 p/night (senior discount).
