Reviews for San Angelo State Park

It's really nice that a state park exists here. The facilities are average, but fine. It's kind of a apocalyptic landscape though. A fine place to stay over, not really a destination unless you have a boat. Also surprisingly cold in March, so be ready to bundle.

The facilities were adequate for us as a stopover. Friendly staff at check in. They gave a great recommendation for BBQ. The reservoir is really suffering from low water. Definitely can get cool at night in early April.

We drove into self checking (by phone) we were 1 of 4 RVs in campsite, within 2 days only RV. The ranger locks the gate around 4ish. Lots of deer in the evening and unknown critters making noises. Primitive campsite, but has water, electricity and a covered concrete table. Watch out for the low hanging mesquite trees that will rip the roof. We have 13'6" tall RV with a new repair. The grills are rusty and firepits in disrepair. The bathhouse probably hasnt been cleaned in years and the building would not be safe in a storm.
