Medeiros is part of this recreation area. It is on the south eastern side of the O'Niel forbay (ie, lake down stream of the San Luis reservoir dam). A primitive camp ground with no hookups and just a few shelters for shade, or occasional rain, picnic tables and a couple of pit toilets and porta johns. It is dispersed camping so if you can find a spot you can just set up. Be warned the wind in this area can be strong ( no I stayed here twice in the last 6 weeks and neither night was it windy... Go figure). Cost is $20. Access site off of Highway 33 about half a mile or so north of the HWY 152 interchange. Follow the dirt road through the gate and there's the Ranger building and registration. Overpriced for what it is, why 4 stars instead of 5, but not that expensive in the greater view of campground pricing in California.
