| "Resort" is a huge over-statement

By user-5829673... on 2017-10-23.

This place is not tidy nor well kept and is not a "resort" by any stretch of the imagination. I can accept being situated between I-5 and a railroad track, however, the sites are tiny, packed in like cordwood and anything but inviting. Lots of long term, junky looking sites. Prices (high) reflect the area but certainly not the quality of the park. We'll look elsewhere next time we're in the area. We have enjoyed Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve, Chula Vista RV Park (a true resort) and Sweetwater Summit Regional Park in past visits to the area. We camped in a 37' Class A motorhome.

This is a very nice RV park with many facilities which are clean and well kept. There are mostly permanents here (or possibly long term) but the access is very good and the sites for the over-nighters are quite large. This is also a Passport America campground and we saved almost $200 on a 5 night stay. We have stayed at Campland and Mission Bay but will return here in the future when we return.

| Pictures are extremely deceiving!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! To start... we are a full time rv'ing family with a lot of experience with different RV parks and resorts across the country. Santa Fe RV Park was by far our worst experience yet (surprising being that it's in La Jolla and one of the most expensive zip codes in the country). We showed up 1 hour after hours to find that there was no room for us... keep in mind that I had booked our reservation 2 months in advance and confirmed it 2 days prior. We drove 2 hours during Spring Break week to be told our reservation was given to someone else... that's fun when you have 2 children, 2 dogs and a wife that are eager to get out of the car. When I called the office the next day to find out what the heck had happened, I expected them to be somewhat apologetic... instead I had a woman that told me "THAT'S NOT TRUE! We didn't give your reservation away." Come to find out, they never put our reservation in properly and gave us false information when I called to confirm. Put simply... terrible management, the grounds are dilapidated, the turning radius is set up for a prius and they apparently don't know how to use a calendar. Oh and by the way... you are about 10 feet from the I5 freeway. The pictures on their website are deceiving (or were taken 10 years prior).
