Nice and quiet

We stayed here for an overnight. Nice state campground and inexpensive at 14 for electric sites. Close enough to town and freeway. No freeway noise or trains.

Stayed the night at an electric site. Plenty of space between sites. Nice covered picnic tables. Men's bathrooms dirty and musty smelling. Showers have a button to push for 15 seconds of water. Pushed 4 times and no warm water? Nice hiking trails. I could see where it could get windy there quite often. Arrived around 2pm and there were about 10 sites not reserved. By 4 all were taken. So get here early or make a reservation. Would definitely stay again

Beautiful, everyone was helpful and friendly. Lots of walking trails, Clean areas and showers which can be hard to come by while tent camping.

Stayed 2014-04-30 to 2014-05-11
Nice clean NM State Park. $10-14. Showers, Bathroom, facilities all clean and in working order. Several choices of spots. Some electric and water, some only electric and some developed sites with no hookups. Also, a separate tent area. It was quiet with few other RVs in the electric/water sites until Mother's day. Paved roads, sites paved, most with picnic table under a shelter. We did not use the lake, but there is boating, fishing and windsurfing. Didn't see a beach for swimming. Water is murky this time of year. We will come back here again, especially off season, spring and fall. We understand it is busy in summer.

NM Santa Rosa Lake State Park
Super convenient stop-over very near I40
The loop currently open has electric on all sites, water on a couple but water is available. Adequate bathhouse with shower. Dumpstation available.

PS - if you walk a dog, beware the dreaded goathead thorns!

Nice Campsite cold shower

That just about says it all. Could not take a shower at all because it was ice cold. It was 60 degrees outside and the water was ice cold in the shower. So you must be able to use your camper .

Clear nice place. Pay at kiosk, put $ in envelope. So have the right amount of money. There was a hand written sign on bathroom door about cold water in girls bathroom. So I took other travelers advice and didn't use showers.

This park is basic, but the view from most sites is beautiful. You can not beat the price.
