Reviews for Santee State Park

| Great Campground

Nice wooded campsites with plenty of trails, a nearby playground and on the water. You can take boat tours of the cypress stands in the lake. Tons of birds of all kinds - my breakfast view was of hummingbirds feeding. Not too far off the interstate for an overnight stop.

"New" campground like staying in a construction site. The bathhouses are old and dirty in the new campground. The old campground has huge potholes in the road and the sites are incredibly uneven. It appears that there is no maintenance what so ever. I hope the fishing is good.

Stayed here for a night. They have two campgrounds. One is $35 a night and the other is $21. Both have water, electric and dump station. They are both on the lake. The $35 one is near the marina and any activities they have. We stayed at the $21 a night.

Wonderful office and gift shop staff, clean and family friendly park. Family of 5 stayed 3 nights with 4 dogs. Walked Trail Head, Kayaked Lake Marion, explored beach area on lake as well, borrowed DVDs and board games for night at office. Quiet friendly campers all around. Helpful and respectful. Camp host was a great guy I hope we see again as well. Bathrooms were cleaned twice a day and are the cleanest we have been to. Kid and dog friendly, many had preschool age and played safely all over camp area. No complaints with this park. We will be back. This place felt as comfortable as home.
