Great park to stay at and explore MT St Helen area. There is a tunnel that connects to the visitor center. We have a travel trailer and chose not to stay in the trailer full hook up area. So glad we did. That area is not nearly as nice as the rest if the park. It's more like a tight RV park. There are beautiful standard sites and some with power water only. Opt for those if you want beauty. Surprised by the beauty of this park.

| Beautiful but not worth it when it s pouring rain

Drovethe5 miles to the park. Very nice setting. It was pouring and cloudy. Not worth the money when I can overnight somewhere for free. Would be worth it if I was going to explore.

| Expensive!

It's a very pretty park, and Mt. St. Hellens is only an hour away. BUT - It's really expensive, $40 for a site with no hookups and you have to pay extra if you want a shower.

| Large Park with good sites

The Park offers a large place to explore trails and offers a large playground. A short walk via tunnel will take you to the Mount Saint Helens Visitor Center, which has a boardwalk trail on the lake. Small fee to enter this location. Downsides: If using an RV or trailer, you will find that some sites don't allow the use of awning and slide out together. The table and firepit are behind the parking area on many sites, so layout can be difficult if you like walking out of trailer into your campsite, especially if you like to have awning near the table. No cell service. Easy drive to Johnston's Ridge Observatory and other MSH attractions. *You can fill your Fresh Water tank next to the entrance.
