| Watch out for no-see-ems.

This park is beautiful..right on the beach and the inlet! But the bugs will eat you and there is no sewer hookup.

This was our first time here, we had a great time. We stayed during the Florida 'winter', so had no issues with bugs. Very quite and clean. Spot 49 is great but close to dump station (although you wouldn't know it). The inner circles look cramped, compared to where we are. Bring your bike, the walk to the beach or playground is a bear.

We love Fl State parks and we love the beach so how could we not like this place? Well, we don't fish, and basically this this place is not our speed. The actual beach portion is pretty course sand. And at least when we were here the front half was covered with sea weed. There are lots of spots on the inlet side with water access, but again it's more good fishing sites than anything else (I must admit in two days of watching dozens of people fish I did not see one fish caught). As to the actual campground. It's a relatively small campground with three loops. The inlet side row are very short sites, mainly for small trailers, pop ups and tents. Very little shade. You are right next to the road to the marina so there is a lot of traffic with people brining in their boats. The inner lane is a mixed bag of short and medium sized sites. The row we stayed at is furthest from the water and on the mangrove side of the park. Decent partial shade. Some of the trees have low branches so if you have a big rig you might have a clearance problem. The sites are coquina gravel with 6x6 borders. It's 30 Amp only and no sewar. Some sites like the one we stayed at #39 share a water source with the adjoining site and you need extra hose length to hook up. The parks website explains which sites need extra hose. The sites are pretty well maintained and the staff and camp hosts are very friendly. Our coach is 35' and we comfortably fit in our site with room for a car or truck parked in front. The sites have picnic tables and fire rings. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. One other thing. This park is about 12 miles from anything (as far as large grocery stores, fast food etc) so come prepared. I gave this place 4 stars because so many people told me how great it was and like I said if I was into fishing I'd probably agree with them. But the rocky beaches, seaweed all over the place and smelly mangroves don't appeal to me and I doubt I'll be back.

Because the no-see-ums drove us out. Every thing about the park is great. Good sites, many with shade, hot showers, in one of the bathrooms anyway, fun walks to take and a great view. Walking the beach is easy. Verizon is 2-3 bars and we paid $31.00 for the night. But oh those bugs....

We were parked at spot 8. Which offers a great view of the water. My only complaint is that the no-see-in s are relentless. This is not a fault of the park so it does not rate in my review. Do come with plenty of big spray rated or tested for no-see-umm or with a screen tent. Otherwise, I have already booked a spot a month from now and next year.
