Loft Mountain is part of Shenandoah National Park on Skyline Drive. It's the part of the park closer to Charlottesville. Some of the sites are reservable and some are first come/first serve. There are no hookups at this park but there are bathrooms on each loop. The showers are at the camp store and require quarters for hot water ($1.75/ 5 minutes). The sites are mostly curved pull-throughs. They're fine for small rigs but I'm not sure how well large rigs would do on those. We were on G 202 and the grassy area with the picnic table and fire ring was fairly level. The pull-through was not. It's the top of a mountain so a lot of the road and pull throughs along it are not flat. If the weather's good, the views and hiking are fantastic. The AT runs around the campground so you can go as far as you like on it. There are bears in the area so you have to watch your food and bear bells are a good idea. It's just a really beautiful area.

| Ok but there are better ones on the Skyline.

Came mid June. Weather ok and cool. Had a reservation but the site was too small for 20ft. tt and truck and you can t park on the grass! Driving be around and found a somewhat level Site. Interior roads old and crumbling. At entrance there is a camp store. Also water and dump station. Not much to do at cg uave to drive to hiking trails.
