We stayed here coming and going about a month apart. Sites are paved and level. Nice dog area along fences. Close to things in gulfport Base Exchange is very nice and new gas station has diesel according to caretakers. Several snowbirds, but usually a spot for overnighters.
Park is open sunshine, no trees. Grass is full of sandspurs, bathroom showers are old, cable has 127 channels of cable music, and 5 real channels, this place is the worse one we have stayed at in over a year of traveling.
If you stay on Shields RV Park make sure you get lakeside not grave sidenice place. Quiet. Nice hookup.
This place is fine and decent value. Two areas to choose from, near gate/services with some road noise or annex area in quiet wooded area in remote corner of base. Be sure you pick/know which area site is located. Online reservation system continually broken according to office; plenty of sites when online says no availability. Be sure to call office or go in person.
Military campground with nice pads and full hookup. 3 washers one has lots of fur in it with sign pet friendly. Our site was 100 feet from noisy hiway with lots of noisy traffic. Bunch of truck noise from large company across hiway. Other end of this park is far enough away from hiway to be quuet enough to get good sleep but filled with snowbirds. There is another campground on base in a quiet area but has no openings I assume is for long term.
