I like full hook ups if I'm staying in a place for more than a few days, so this place just isn't one of my favorites. Having said that, we've stayed here a few times because of the location proximity to my family. This trip included rain, rain, and more rain. Many of the sites were water logged, although most of our site was on high ground (Site 57). There are quite a few sites that had 'semi permanent folks' and the tidy factor just wasn't there. Never met 'D' but he had "D's Mancave" which was the RV, "D's garage" which was a trailer,D's golf cart, D's mustang, D's boat, and on and on. On the other side of the park was a camp site with a trailer labeled "Not D's", okay. These were all the same folks that were here three years ago when we were last here, so maybe more permanent than semi-permanent. The bath house has definitely gone downhill in those three years. The water in the women's had no water pressure, and the faucet did a 360 turn which you had to get just right to get any warm water, a millimeter one way or the other and you missed the hot water. Ladies came in to clean every day, but it was a bandaid at best because they never took care of the cobwebs hanging everywhere, just pushed the mop around which was too much bleach for the lack of ventilation. For eight days, it was $189, so just over $23 a day, which isn't bad for the Charleston area. And they have upgraded to 50 amp service since our last visit. Still, we'll pay more to have full hook ups instead of coming back here.
Stayed one night just to try it out. Seems mostly oriented to fishing. Large wooed site for $21 seems high, the monthly rate of $460 evidently is a good deal as there seem to permanent residents, not sure if this is an appropriate use of the facility. Recommend the park at the Airforce Base or as a second choice at the Naval Weapons Station. Cheaper and better location.

Nice location. Many full timers staying here. But get a 50 amp site and you will have a good water view on a concrete level site!
