Shubie campground is part of a city park. Lots of trails, kayaking, pool. No sewer on the sites. Dump site only. There is a honey wagon but it is small and very messy.
We arrived at noon on Sunday and were told if we wanted to check in before 2 p.m. it would cost an extra $15 even though our site was empty, since there was no place to park our 40' MH we paid. Showers cost $1 but they don't tell you at check in.
Good location but..... only two stars because we arrived at noon with no reservation and they wouldn t let us check in, which was at 1pm. We sat outside the gate with truck and airstream until we could get in. It s a real bummer cause they had many open spots and the spots they had available for us were all empty anyway! Waiting outside of the gate definitely shaved into our plans for the day.
Close to Halifax, you cn ride the bus and ferry to get to downtown Halifax. Takes about 45 minus. Staff is friendly, facilities are clean, lots of hiking trails in the area. It is an urban campground so there is highway noise. also the sites are mostly grass with some gravel so there can be some mud. It rained most of the time we were there, had no issues.
Pretty good camp ground, wifi worked good compared to most places we stayed on the east coast, liked our site, great area to explore Halifax and surrounding area.
Sites are just ok. Only a few sewer sites at this campground. Don't arrive before 2 pm. Wifi not good, no cable either, but we have seen that a lot in Canada. We got a site on the road to a neighborhood park. Cars came and went all day kicking up dust. But, probably the closest campground to downtown.
