Reviews for Sleepy Hollow RV Park & Campground

| NOT Big Rig Friendly

By user-6282435... on 2017-10-23.

Pulled in for an overnight just after darkness fell. We had called earlier and gotten a recording to just pick a site. No site maps in the office so I had to use one I found online. Roads were incrediblly narrow, hilly and difficult. Could not figure out a spot to use as they were poorly marked do I called the "emergency" person listed. No answer, no call back. The grounds are nice for local, family camping, not folks who truly RV.

| Skip the full hookup sites

We've camped here multiple times. Great place for families with good kid activities. Playground is a little weak, but more than enough other things to keep kids entertained. Full hookup sites are on a steep hill. Gravel pads are relatively level, but findings a level spot for a lawn chair can be difficult in many of the full hookup sites. Water and electric sites are grass and we much prefer them over the full hookup- much more level. Pool was not open Memorial Day weekend, which was not disclosed when we made our reservation.

| Horrible

By user-5905828... on 2017-10-23.

After years of full timing I have finally found the worst Campground ever. The sewer Lagoon smell was overwhelming. Electric went out during the night no one answers the emergency number 10 a.m. next morning still no one in the office. Did after hours self check-in paid for 50 amp site go to the 50 amp area no sites available. Most sites are on the side of a hill pads may be flat and level the rest of the site runs downhill so badly you can hardly walk let alone sit on the grass area. Roads were in horrible shape, potholes, narrow and steep. Most sites are occupied by permanent or semi-permanent residence. Of course they have the only truly usable sites. Will not go back and obviously do not recommend even for a one-night stay.

| Nice place

Nice place to visit . Came in around 5 am on Saturday. Did the after hours check in . Found a nice level spot easily. Grassy areas, trees, fire pits, picnic tables, fishing pond, play ground, volley ball, pool, and a few other things I didn't notice but read they had. The showers were decent but readily available 24 hours a day. Wifi available but the hotspot is at the store so it didn't reach us . This was okay since we were only there to sleep for the night and shower. Bathrooms were a little tight but clean . Many amenities and the grounds looked peaceful. Prices can't be beat. Right off Interstate 80 so very convenient. Full hook up is available with pull through spots . Would come and stay again if in the neighborhood .

| Lagoon smells horrible

By user-5313208... on 2017-10-23.

Office staff is super nice, overall a nice place to stay with clean bathrooms and showers. We didn’t have a problem with the “steep hills” they really weren’t a big deal for our 38’ fifth wheel. The only problem we had was the “lagoon” STINKS! It’s often breezy and the wind would blow a strong smell of sewage and scum water into our windows. I wouldn’t even mention it if it weren’t SO bad.

Friday night is a bad time to stay, people have rigs there full time, come on Friday and party tell way late a night. Left early.

| Roads in the park are so bad they are dangerous

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-09-17 to 2018-09-18

Roads are severely rutted and pot-holed. Sites are located up steep drives and around sharp turns. Generally a pretty area, but a lot of maintenance is needed to bring this park up to quality standard.

| Just OK

We liked our pull through site along the small lake. Most of the sites are stacked against a hill side. A large proportion of the sites are full time summer places. Road noise all night long.

| 2nd stay worse than 1st

By user-5771975... on 2019-08-09.

Was on the way so stayed again. Last time. Negatives are poorly graded sites, couldn't drain black tank bc sewer at higher level, one facility and 2 of 4 toilets didn't work and not enough for large population. Pool and lake were ok but loads of kids so noisey not to mention highway noise and dust from golf carts on poorly graveled roads.
