Although this FamCamp is located on the base it a lot left to be desired. Some improvements have been made but no where near enough to warrant the fees and to compare with other FamCamp around the country. Most of all the "Rudeness" of the office staff and rigidity of rules. IE I was told I was required to check out of one site at 12pm and leave and come back at 3pm to checkin at my new RV site w/full service or pay 1/2 day rent. I told the lady that was absurd just to move from one site to another and she told that was the rules. There is a 7 day cancellation requirement for reservations so don't break down on the way because ABSOLUTELY no consideration will be given. Very dusty and not friendly. Would pass by if you don't have to stop or have business here. Find another place!!!

This RV park is not located within the secured confines of the military base, however it is on the military installation. You do not have to go thru any check points to get to this park. This park still has gravel road access and no WIFI when I last stayed there in August 2014. Rates are $20 and up. For RV sites. Not sure what cabins rent for. Limited number of pull-thru site I would say about 6 or 7. Stayed there winter or 2012 and we had to have outside delivery of propane and I haven't seen any tanks on site since then. Not sure of laundry cost but do remember it was higher then most other military bases I have stayed at. No fire wood to purchase or available for your personal use. Quiet campground except the helicopters flying overhead going to and from the airfield located just across the lake. I have stayed here on many occasions over the last 6 - 8 years. Although some improvements have been made a lot more need to be done. Their rates are equal or higher then most of bases I have stayed at with a lot more services, conveniences and paved roads.

This was the last stop of our two month trip across the country before arriving home in Virginia. Our site was spacious with a large concrete pad that was mostly level and full hook-ups. There were only a couple other campers there so we had plenty of space to walk the dog. The bath house was clean and convenient and the grounds were neat and well kept. We would stay there again.

The worst military campground I have ever stayed at. The staff is clueless I could only stay in one spot for one night then had to move because of how "full" they were my original spot stayed open for more than a week. If you are looking for a place that just has water, electric and sewer and nothing else this is the spot. The lake has been closed for years due to bacteria, that they didnt even tell us about we heard from someone else then had to look it up myself. The only thing it is close to is Simmons AAF. This is the worst military campground from the clueless staff to the actual site's that are concrete but nowhere near level. I could go on, but long story short don't waste your money here.
