This is an old KOA park that located by I95 and 301 outside Petersburg Va on Rt. 35 . This park has changed ownership and could use a little improvements, however you can't beat the location and the staff is very friendly .
We have stayed here in the past and were wondering if it was still open. It is and in the process of fixing it up. New owners have had a tragedy in the lose of her husband and some setbacks, the place is a nice stop over. We will come again.
Pretty nice campground called sunday evening about 15 min before they closed was still on the road about 45 min away manager stayed and waited for me to arrive sites seem to be kept up pretty well pool is nice for the kids to enjoy stayed through the week so not sure of the weekend noise but was quiet while I was there all around nice place
As a Travel Nurse I have stayed in many Campgrounds. South Forty was one of the most unkept Campgrounds I have ever stayed in. Grass is high and lots unkept. I found the proprieters to be unwelcoming and very unfriendly. The area has many attractive qualities including great Civil War attractions. Do yourself a favor and stay at Picture Lake Campground just a short distance away and closer to great dinning and historical attractions .
Great family park! Nice pool and playground for kids. Quiet and clean. Great little restaurant on lot as well. Highly recommended
Easy on/off 95. Immaculate campground with top facilities. A little pricey at $47.00 for full hookup BUT the pool is great AND best of all, there’s an insight restaurant called Shakers serving breakfast lunch and dinner. I just had breakfast. It was great.
It was a little too rustic and run down for us. Nice cafe convenient for breakfast to dinner.
We have stopped here several times for overnight stops and it is perfect. Long pull through sites, although a little unlevel, picking table and fire rings and quiet. Close to interstate but you only minimal traffic noise.
Don t stay here live electric wires in ceiling in bathroom Bathroom are not cleaned at all pig stye Culvert rusted pipes in tent sites run from this place
It was a quiet oasis to arrive to, after 12 hours on the road. Office help went out of their way to help us with a late check in.
Helpful staff and easy instructions for late arrival. The GPS took us through a trailer park to a dead end road that was a little tricky getting out of. Seems to happen a lot bc a resident came out to give us directions back out and into the RV park. There was a little family owned restaurant we were able to walk to from our site to get a good meal out of the RV.
