Reviews for South Newport Campground

| Dump

Needed a place for the night. When we arrived, we were shocked. We had been told on the phone, by the very sweet older lady, that they could accommodate our 37' MH with toad, with a 50amp site. Not even close! All grass and sand, under pine trees, with tiny narrow lots that you could hardly find, as it is very old and run down. We were relieved we were able to find a way to turn and get out without getting stuck. Avoid this place!

| good basic site

I would use this as an overnight site only. Very basic, but level sites with 50A service, water, and sewage service. Very inexpensive.

I would like to respond to the person, saying, my campground was a dump. I feel quite sure, you did not pull in the site, I told you to , for 50 amp service. I do have some smaller sites, but, the one I told you, was, plenty of room for you. Not sure where you saw the sand, as, I have absolutely no sand. I do have a few pine trees, but, mostly, huge, beautiful, oak trees. It was dark, so, I feel, you could not see, the true charm, that EVERYONE, I have loves! You would never get stuck here, as, I have high, level ground. Land doesn't get old, so, not sure, what you thought, was OLD, and RUNDOWN. I don't have a fancy campground, but, am very proud, of my safe, quiet, very nice, campground!I hope you see this review, and would love to talk to you, about, putting, such, a very bad review, for me. 912-617-7750 Thank you.

Sites are far too narrow and it’s almost impossible to turn around. Too many trees, not enough power. Works for the price if you just need to rest and dump tanks.

| Great stopover

We have stayed at this little campground twice. It's a great place to stop for the night. Sights are tight, but level. We have a 35' motorhome and had no trouble getting in. Once with a toad and once without. Very nice people. If you are looking for a resort with amenities, this isn't it, but if you want a quiet stopover for a night or two with full hook-ups at a reasonable price, this is it. We will definitely be back.

We called last minute and Ms Cindy was very accommodating and friendly. Great place..clean pull thru spots with grass. Most sites have picnic table. Full hookups. You can’t beat it for the money. If your looking for a ton of amenities this place is not for you. If you want a quick, QUIET, place for the night, with tons of beautiful shade trees, then this is your place. Satellite dish won’t work, but we picked up 13 channels on antenna. Grocery store is a few miles away. This is our new stop over.

Nice little place. Big rig would fit. Seems to be seasonal people there. Shady a lot. Price fixed at 25$. Expensive since zéro toilet. Good for a nite for some. Did not stayed cause needed showers and toilet. Thank you anyway. May 2018

I spent two nights this site on my way back to Florida in my 33 foot Class A. I had no problems getting into the sites. And stated my previous entries of other people there are no public bathrooms or showers here and there is no pool. You need to being fully self-contained Lynn here. Water electric and Sewer hookups are available on all the Lots. And for someone wanting to stay longer then just a short pass through cables available also on the sites. This is a very small family-owned Campground that was established back in 1987. When you call you'll speak to Miss Cindy who's the owner now and she a very pleasant person. When you come to this location you'll need to work with her via the phone as she is disabled. All the woof posts have site numbers on them. When entering drive parallel to the house and make a right turn back into the pull-throughs. That way you'll be facing out when you go to leave. If you're looking for luxury and lots of amenities at a campsite this is not for you. But if you're on a budget and want a nice safe quiet place to stay this fills the bill.

This is a quaint and quiet little stop. Nice Lady "Mrs. Cindy" is your host. Not much in the line of amenities, no bathhouse, but this just fine if you are passing through. They do have full hookups with sewer. We like the place and will stay again on our way down south. There is a great local seafood place right down the road to the south as you pass Piggly Wiggly on the right at the intersection. Do try out the seafood buffet.

I would like to add to the guest, that said, you have to deal with me via telephone. Most people do deal via telephone, as they call for vacancies. As for the disabled comment, I definitely, do have some back problems, but, am out on the campground, most every day.

I would just like to update everyone, on our campground. We have done a lot of tree trimming, painting, and cleaning, to make our already, beautiful piece of land, with HUGE oak trees, lots of moss, green grass, even prettier! We have the most WONDERFUL HOST, in the world, who truly cares, about you, and your comfort! WE don't have a bathhouse, and aren't fancy, but, if you are looking for a nice, safe, quiet, place to stay, then you'll want to come stay with us!

| Nice little campground

By user-6567111... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-11-23 to 2018-11-24

Please note this is not an RV Park so you won t find the amenities that often come along with that, what this is is a very nice little campground, perfect for our quick overnight. We had a 45ft w/toad, 50amp and they were able to accommodate us with an easy entry and exit. This is a perfect half way stop for us on our ORL/AVL trip and will definitely utilize again.

| Perfect stop

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.

We were traveling along 95 and decided we wanted to stop. I called and spoke to a lady (the owner I assume) at 11pm and she was so sweet! We had our 18 month old and wanted to get her a bath and a good nights sleep. Perfect stop with full hook ups for $25. Safe, convenient, and quiet. Will stop again if we travel this way! Thanks for accommodating the late call :)
