Something for everyone
By user-5841175... on 2017-10-23.
Whoever said there was no shade must not have been here. This place is full of old, large maples. The chirping birds almost mask the distant highway noise Each site is grassy, and has a concrete patio with a nice table & chairs. There are cabins, and tent sites with power available.

BEWARE! Site 27 is not big rig friendly!
By user-5814492... on 2017-10-23.
I made the reservation on line for a big rig site! We were put in a site that we were in the road on both ends of our rig. Paid for big site but got a smaller site.
Office would not do anything about!

Nice park, train tracks close
By user-5646169... on 2017-10-23.
Stayed 2016-10-28 to 2016-10-30
Stayed in Oct 2016. Park is very nice and clean.
Only complaint was the very active train tracks very close to the park. As long as you don't mind being awoken a few times, it's a very nice RV park

Great Place, train is close
By user-5277751... on 2017-10-23.

Great park, all pull through sites, full hook ups. Very friendly staff. Stayed 2 nights and spent some time in town. Great college town.
Train was a pain. Woke me up several times each night. Do they really need to blow the horn at 3:30 am? Cable TV was great and WiFi. I would stay again. We liked it overall.
Stayed in a travel trailer, site was plenty big for trailer and tow vehicle.

Very surprised at winter rate of $60.01. That is no typo they charged 60.01, why the one cent is a mystery. Park is gravel, no shade, showers closed for winter so I can only guess at how they justify such a high rate per night. Park is not exceptional in any way.

Know how to treat late check-ins
By user-5261784... on 2017-10-23.
Very good info about available sites, with prices, hook-ups, etc., detailed, and a map & pay envelope READY for each guest. Very smart. Wish they'd all be so accommodating (don't even try the Indianapolis KOA after dark).

Clean and friendly.

Our first experience with RV camping, we couldn't have picked a better place. Easy to find, clean, and a knowledgeable friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more!!

Nice Park with One Issue
By user-4618825... on 2018-05-17.
Stayed 2018-03-30 to 2018-03-31
This is a very nice and friendly KOA. The staff and grounds are great. Really liked the trees and campsites and enjoyed the feel at night. Only issue are the trains aa they came through three or four times last night and are close. If you can handle the train noise, we would definitely recommend the site.

Great Campground
By user-4992221... on 2018-07-06.
Stayed 2018-05-30 to 2018-06-02
Sites are well spaced, but close. Concrete patio and with table and chairs. With my reservation, check-in was literally less than a minute. We'd definitely stay here again.

Trains
By user-5579193... on 2019-08-09.
Stayed 2018-10-04 to 2018-10-05
The park is well maintained, good amenities and the staff pleasant. That being said the train tracks are across the street and freight lines run ALL night. Not the best location which is a shame. If you're tired and looking for a good night's sleep look to another park.

Yes there are Trains. But this is a real nice camp
By user-5326444... on 2019-08-09.
Stayed 2019-04-19 to 2019-04-21
The trains didn't run through the area that often and weren't that disturbing.
What was disturbing was the pop-up tent trailer in front of us with 3 dogs and an owner who disappeared for hours...the dogs got lonely and they howled, and howled and..........
Hopefully the management takes care of problems like this.
Other than that, it's a real nice campground. Lots of trees, out in the country. Close enough to the highway for easy access but far enough so you didn't hear it.
Staff was real friendly and helpful.
We were here two nights. Wish we had planned to stay here longer. Would definitely come back and stay...and definitely for a longer time.

KOA
By user-5142690... on 2019-08-09.
Standard KOA experience. Spots are pull through and somewhat close to each other. You can get full hookups there. Playground is lacking. Popular with snowbirds it looked like, at least in early May with school still in session.
The Route 66 theme is played up heavily.
The trains are loud and close. Didn't bother us, but some may not like it. There also can be some road noise from freeway.
Clean and quiet otherwise. Close enough to Springfield without being right in the city.

Standard KOA however it has lots of trees and shade which is nice.
