Family camping
By user-4724898... on 2017-10-23.
I gave three stars due to beautiful beaches. Campground was crowded and loud. No privacy. Golf carts everywhere. We camped in the spring. Probably will find another park in the future.

Vacationed there the last four years
By user-5488921... on 2017-10-23.
We love this park. My wife and I bring our kayaks and kayak with the dolphins. Usually our in-laws go with us and the lagoon there is kind on the elderly because the waves aren't too ruff and they can walk out about 50 yards.

Family Camping at its Best

This campground is amazing. It's close to town, has amazing beaches, air-conditioned bathrooms, and large campsites.
We spent 3 days here and wished we had stayed longer. There are open beaches with waves, or sheltered beaches that are perfect for snorkeling. You get all of the benefits of camping in a natural setting, yet you are only 2 miles from the docks and 15 minutes from pier-park.
This was not a loud campground when we were there.
Also, be sure to call the campground a week before you arrive and get the gate code. Late arrivals will be challenged getting past the locked gate.

Love this park. Many sites right on the "grand lagoon", easy biking to gulf beach, Panama City Beach town. Beautiful gulf beach with lots of seashells to gather, ranger station has a nice information center with info on flora and fauna and there is a gator lake with gators and more herons than you will ever see anywhere.

Our happy place : )
By user-5868678... on 2017-10-23.
We've been camping here at St. Andrews for 11 years, it is truly Our happy place, the beach and Grand lagoon is top notch ! Of course it is hard to plan a camping vacation around Mother nature, but good and bad We've never left unhappy. As far as the bathhouse's they are standard State issue but are always clean & airconditioned ! There is so many things to do here !!
All I can say is book it !!

We had a very large site on the bay side. We noticed that other sites were not as big. We biked out to the beaches on the Gulf side, and they are beautiful. They even had a Gator Pond, and indeed, we saw a gator and hundreds of birds. Good restrooms and showers, although the laundry facilities need repairs.

Nice State Park
By user-5055794... on 2017-10-23.
We stayed 4/19/2015-4/22/2015. Bath houses are newer and very clean. There are ample areas for walking, bike riding, or running on paved roads. Most sites are dirt or gravel with a few concrete pads for large rigs. All roads are paved and this reduces dust. Plenty of restaurants and shopping about two miles from park (sidewalks for walking or bikes). There is a campsite store with basics and souvenirs onsite. Boat ramp and parking. Can ride the boat shuttle to Shell Island.

Nice State Park

Enjoyed our stay there, although we weren't able to go out and enjoy the park (to include the beach) as much as we would have liked to as the weather turned real cold on us (in the 30s/40s), but that's what you get for camping in January. Bathhouses were all fairly new and in great condition, even had washer/dryers there. When reserving, pay particular attention to length of sites as they vary greatly.

Very nice campground. Sites are close but most separated by palmetto adding extra privacy. Very nice to walk or bike. Beaches are excellent. Loved walking down the shore. Park stores were closed for the season. As was the shuttle boat to shell island. We will be going back.

Too noisy & crowded

Beaches are nice but too noisy and too many carts-bikes-trucks-cars moving about. Felt like I was camped near a highway. Also sites are too close to each other.

Only a 3 because the entry roads are so bad! Drive SLOW! Park itself is great and close to some awesome beaches! Again...drive slow, dips and holes in the road you can’t see!

We enjoyed our visit here and would come again. The sites vary in size but there are enough sites to accommodate larger RV's. The sites have hard pack earth pads that are level. There is a picnic table, fire ring, electric and water at each site. Modern restrooms close by with laundry.
There is a nice nature exhibit at visitors center and a number of walking trails. They offer boat rentals.
We had deer visit us daily.
