| Small but clean campground

By user-5179501... on 2017-10-23.

Normally, I check the campground map to see the layout of the campsites. I like the motorhome to be facing north which gives me sun in the mornings when it's cool and shade in the evening when it's hotter. It took me about 2 months to get a waterfront reservation here since there is only 9 sites with 3 on the water. All 3 faces the SW. With highs in the 90s and no shade we only ventured outside early in the morning and then after sunset. The campsites were narrow but manageable. The aluminum picnic table had a hard cover above it. The fire ring was nice and the firewood was free. A grill was conveniently located on each sight. Amenities includes a boat ramp, nice clean bath house, & a playground. Staff is very friendly too. Next trip here will be in the winter months so I can really enjoy the outdoors.

| Unfortunately they have the wrong person at the entrance gate!!!

We went to check out this campground because we had heard it was very nice. It is well kept however the lady at the gate house should be working in a back room somewhere not in a job that requires interaction with people. I pulled up to the gate and asked if we could check out the campground, she said yes and gave me a map. I pulled in and parked in the lot and started walking around with my golden retriever on his leash. After about 2 minutes the lady at the gate came running towards me telling me I had asked permission to drive through and I walking around with a dog not on a leash at which time I showed her the leash in my hand and she was taken back. I asked if there was a fee to walk around she said no but told me not to walk on sites, which being an RVer I would never do anyway. I got very upset with her berating me and I told her we will leave. I stopped at the gate house on my way out and handed back the map and told her I won't be needing this as I would never stay at such an unwelcoming place. It's a shame because the place is well kept.
