Easy access

We live close to the St.Vrain State Park and visit there once a year for 2 nights in the Spring to check out our fifth wheel for the season. On the South side the spots are long enough to accomodate anything with full hook ups and pull thru. Concrete pads to put the trailer on. Decent tables with wind block. This would not be a destination RV park but it is actually very nice for that overnight situation.
The floods of 2013 did some damage and you should check with the park if you intend to use the North end.
Real easy access right off I-25. Reservations recommended.

First camping of the season

For the money, you just can't beat this park. It is very well groomed, pull through paved level pads, full hookups including 50 amp. We were in between two ponds, both stocked with trout. Folks were catching their limits in about an hour. My only complaint is that there is zilch in the way of wind breaks. Spring camping here can carry some cool to cold breezes that eventually get through whatever you're wearing. There were nice, commercial fire pits though. The park is close to the Interstate, but far enough that it didn't seem to be a factor. 17 April and they were sold out, so don't plan on just dropping in.

Great state park

This is a very nice state park which in my mind are better than private campgrounds most times. Beautiful grounds and large sites, most with water frontage. Only negative is the road noise from I25.

Not the easiest park to get a reservation. We stayed here for a few days last week in the electric only section. Wonderful mature trees for shade. This week we are in the full hookup area which is the new camping section. No mature trees. Good cell service, good selection of stores close to Denver.

We were very impressed! This is a very nice setting. Access was easy and the spaces are roomy. Arrival after hours was confusing. It was not clear that there is no vehicle charge for a tow so I overpaid but still consider it a bargain. Hosts live in RVS in the park and take very good care of the grounds and facility.

Screwy reservation system

Overall this is a very nice park. It is really close to I-25, so easy access. There is road noise while outside the RV, but none inside. There were no shade trees to speak of, but the sites are very spacious, both at your site and between sites, so plenty of room. Sites are concrete with a gravel patio, table, and covered wind guard. There's a walking path around the pond. Water and mountain views from most sites.
There is a $7.00 per day entrance fee PER VEHICLE in addition to the site fee, so we paid $14.00 per day for MH & toad.
My beef is that we stopped at the gate 2 nights before we were to leave and asked to extend 2 more days. We needed to have an RV mobile tech come to fix our a/c. We were told that she couldn't do it that day, but come back the next day, and she would book it for us. The site was available for those 2 extra days, and we had first right. I questioned her that what if someone booked it online. Was told not to worry, that booking online required 72 days out, and this was only going to be 24 hrs. No worries..we would be fine. Well, guess what. When we went back the next day, the site had been booked online, so we couldn't extend. She talked in huge circles when we tried to hold her to the fire. Typical government establishment. As a matter of principle, we won't be back.

Nice Sites - Bad Location

Great park with close proximity to Denver. Sites were new and large, with full hook-ups and all were pull-through. This park had trails and multiple lakes for fishing. The park is right on the highway, so if you are looking for more than a one night stay I would look else where. The noise was ever present.
All that said, it was a very nice park, looked newer, and rates were reasonable. The only downside was that on top of having to pay for your site, there is a separate vehicle fee of $7 per day.

Had a training in Longmont and took my truck camper as my living arrangements. This place was great and super close to where my training was.
The good -
The RV spots all seem to be right next to or close to the ponds/lakes. The spaces are large and there is plenty of space between spots. Dump station on the way in/out. Water available at several spots within the park.
The bad -
The interstate is close so there is a lot of road noise. Bathrooms seem maintained but the showers are coin operated. On top of the RV site fee you must also have a Colorado State parks pass. Not being a Colorado resident I purchased it by the day - $7 per day. All totaled up that meant $31 per day to stay. Almost comparable to an RV park with free shower facilities.
All in all I would stay here again but I sure felt like I was getting nickel and dimed.

This is one of the best places we have stayed at. The people working, the Rangers, the hosts, evwryone was very polite and helpful. They even opened up a site for us when there was a mix up on sites. I highly recommend staying here. They pretty much have it all. Thank you all for a wonderful trip. We will certainly be back.

Great place to park for the night and maybe longer. Directly off the interstate and you will know it, you see and hear the traffic.
Sites are reasonable spaced and designed for RVs. Easy to get in and nice level concrete pads.
