Steckel Park Campground

Be aware of low hanging trees after entering. the park is in need of some serious pruning. Other than that it's a great place.

| Quiet, pleasant and an aviary!

Spent two nights here. When we arrived the host offered to unlock the showers for us as he'd already closed them for the day by five pm. They have several RV spots with hookups and many more that are still primitive. It's not right along the freeway like many parks can be. There is a nice day use area with playgrounds, picnic and BBQ areas. You have to buy your wood elsewhere but you'll have a fire ring. There's plenty of shade and a lot of spaces for tenters. They charge a dollar a day for having a dog. Steckel is very close to the charming town of Santa Paula and a nice short drive to Ojai. Ventura County is known for its perfect weather so you will find it mild with gentle breezes.

Steckal park is our favorite spot to camp. We have been coming here for the last 4 years and stay in the rv area. The previous park host has always been on hand and drove through several times a day. This trip there was a new host. WE saw him once during our 5 day stay. It was very disappointing. One of the rv campers washed both of his vehicles and also washed his trailer with comet with his water running for over half the day, which is against the rules, but no one was there to checheck up. We rinsed of some mud off the concrete pad on our last visit and received a ticket for wasting water. So what's up steckal park?? We want the old park host back!!!
