| Unforgettable Experience

By user-5882699... on 2017-10-23.

We have visited many places around the country, and this one always comes up when asked our favorites. The camping experience was interesting because we were afraid of the creatures at night, but we're fascinated by them during the day. The highlight was renting a motor boat to tour the swamp. It was truly a different world around each corner. The motor boat allowed us to explore deep into the swamp... much further than we could have paddled. This place is for adventurers, not the faint of heart. I'm not a fan of bugs, so the shower situation was challenging. My boys encountered two poisonous snakes near the campground, but the rangers helped them find a detour. We kept our dogs on a short leash. This vacation photo book is easily one of our most beautiful. We visited in the spring.

| Quiet and clean

If you like nature you will love this park. Pull through sites are anything but. Very tight fit for a 5th wheel.. Even trying to back into the pull through's proved difficult. Low hanging tree's were also a concern and blocked access to two of the 50 AMP sites. Dirt & grass sites could pose a problem during rainy visits. A little pricey for no sewer hookups, out of the way location, and lack of amenities. But then, in a weard sort of way, those qualities add to the appeal of the place. Kudos to the staff, the showers/restrooms were very clean.

Spent two nights. The grounds are very clean and well taken care of. Rented a boat and did a swamp tour. Lots of wildlife to be seen including very large alligators. Partial hookups. No T-Mobile cell service
