Driving through Texas and NM, looking at the possible places to stay, was a bit disconcerting. Many of the places I wouldn't leave a stray dog. The reviews were good ones and I am thankful for those. The woman in the office was very nice and set us up with a very nice space for the night. It had a ton of green space for me to run the dogs plus there is a good size dog "park". Sites are easy to get into and the roads are good. There is propane available and it is relatively close to restaurants. We did not bring a toad this trip as we weren't going to stay in one place very long. If you have a vehicle, no worries, there would be many places to go. My only warning is, mapquest has you doing a U'y and it isn't necessary, there is an opening to enter. We are in a 40' motorhome.
Just stayed one night, but it was nice enough to stay longer. Friendly staff. A few good activities. Good bath house and restrooms. Coffee in the morning. Many sites had nice trees and some space; ours was level gravel pull-through site.
Went there because of all the rave reviews -- and it deserves them. Clean, level, quiet. Attention to detail like plenty of hooks in the shower rooms, single-use paper bath mat. Everything well maintained. And heated showers/bathrooms very nice on this 27 degree morning. Would stay there any time.
