Clean rest rooms and showers. Friendly owners. Nice restaurant on site. Town of Cedar Key about 3 miles is like old time Florida towns. Good place for star gazers.

Good for a couple of nights

We stayed two nights here. The spaces are very close together, so there's very little privacy. However, our space was on the water, and the sunsets were beautiful. It was an easy ride on our bikes into the quaint little town. Wifi worked fine. The bathrooms could use some upgrades.

Quiet, but tight

Spent three nights here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pads are gravel, some (and ours) have concrete patios and dirt roads. Quiet place, nearly empty through the week while we were there. My Verizon Mi-Fi device reads two bars of 4G/LTE and my iPhone reads -114 db and LTE. Campground has Wi-Fi, but it is very slow. Very convenient to the downtown Cedar Key area. They are currently rebuilding the clubhouse and the docks are gone, at least near our campsite #18. This park was built back when RVs were much, much smaller and it shows it. Sites are packed very tightly together and some are very short. Our TT is 31' overall and takes up the entire slot lengthwise in #18. In all fairness, the previous two reviews were written before hurricane Hermine hit a couple of months ago and I believe they are rebuilding from devastation caused by Hurricane Hermine. Most, if not all the electrical pedestals appear pretty new. While I believe it may be a bit overpriced at the moment, we do like the place and would stay here again. This is a Good Sam park and we did get the 10% discount. We really enjoy the laid back, friendly atmosphere of the Cedar Key area!

Under Construction

I booked this place because of the location and access to the water to fish on my kayak, as well as a restaurant on the premise and fishing docks for waterfront sites. When I arrived I was very disappointed. The park was under construction. No restaurant and no fishing docks plus the view of pushed up dirt and construction equipment. The park is also home to long term residents and sites where cluttered and not mowed. The bathrooms were older, but not to bad the first night. The second night they were dirty. I loved how close the park was to town. I rode my bike and looked around. I understand parks must do construction to update and maintain the property. I just wished I would have been told when I called to book it because I wouldn't have stayed. The main reasons I stayed there was because of the restaurant and the ability to fish from my site, none of which were available. The staff was nice.

Great place to stay in Cedar Key

We initially were stopping for one night, loved the peaceful setting and proximity to town we ended up staying 3 nights. 1/2 hour easy walk into town. They also offer a shuttle for $5pp round trip. There's also an on site cafe open until 2pm. We had breakfast one morning, very good. They entire town is extremely dog friendly. We stayed on site 39, interior site yet still had great water views. We are in a 40 ft motor home with slides on both sides and had ample room, a nice size cement pad with picnic table. We will be back!

Not as Advertised

We spent one night. The site was $20 more than advertised and there were no fire rings. To have a fire you need to bring your own ring or rent one. We checked in after 5 and we were out of luck for a fire ring and to get ice. We did walk to the next RV camp to the right and bought ice and sat at their quaint Tiki Bar. Their website should be updated. There are no docks, they were wiped out in a storm. The sunset was very nice from #4 site. The bathrooms needed some care, cleaning and paper replacement. We enjoyed our time and the sunset.

Quaint park

Great location, mile and half to Cedar Key Main Street. Some sites are waterfront on the bay. Four private baths. Restaurant on site. Next door to a great tiki bar. Walk to clam hatchery that has a tour weekly. WIFI poor, suitable for email only, useless for the web browsing.

Really wanted to love it!

PROS:
-Very close proximity to town
-Dog bags available
-Trash and recycling
-Beautiful sunsets
-Community events - this park did a really great job of building community and helping you get to know everyone.
-Really enjoyed getting to know our neighbors. They were very friendly and kind.
-We felt very safe staying at this park.
-Noticed the bathrooms were cleaned daily.
CONS:
-Very, very tight spaces. Our neighbors poop hose was right outside our front door.
-Sites are gravel, so muddy when it rains.
-Pesticide spraying without signs. We have a dog and a baby and asked them to label where they were spraying so my dog wouldn t track poison into our home and so our baby wouldnt be playing in it. We were told to, walk our dog somewhere else . You can get a pack of 50 for like $5 and even reuse them. Apparently we were asking too much.
-Work campers would walk through our site and also speak very loudly right outside our windows while my baby was trying to sleep. They simply had no etiquette or manners.
-The laundry machines would break down every week.
-The bath houses were adequate. Many times they were shut down temporarily for maintenance.
-Very slow internet. Some days, unavailable.
-Occasional loud boats in bay. Construction going on next door.

Spectacular Sunsets every nite

This is a rustic, very-tightly spaced campground. Pluses include kayaking right from camp to see dolphins, excellent activities director (trips, crafts, hotdog nite, weekly breakfast, & Friday potluck), amazingly friendly group of repeat campers. Only 4 pull-thrus, most sites are FHU w/water view from camper. Good bathrooms, adequate laundry, 1 mile from downtown Cedar Key.
