Reviews for Suwannee River Hideaway Campground

| Just ok

Better for an over-night stay. FHU sites are small/not level with no natural appeal. Cell service is the hope it works over here type and no wi-fi. To pricey for what you don't get.

| Nice Quiet Place

It was a very nice park. The pool was refreshing. The sites were spacious. Management was friendly. It's quite a hike to see the river though, and it seems that the management has never camped in an RV park before. The site they gave us had a broken sewer hook-up, they were not concerned with covering it, when I took a site with no sewer I was charged 2 dollars to dump at their dump station, and I was told I could have used the broken sewer line if I had just "stuck the hose way down in there". We were a group of 7 and overall had a great time!

| Great real camping!

This place is a hidden gem. First, it's huge! There's ample room to bring in and turn around ANY rig. There is a wonderful boardwalk through the swamp and out to a deck & dock on the Suwannee River. Amazing five miles of trails & especially the boardwalk shouldn't be missed!! It is quiet and dark at night. The owners purposely did not put street lights in the park, which makes perfect stargazing. There are tent sites and full hook up sites. There's a small pool, a clubhouse and adequate laundry & showers. It is situated in real, old, untamed Florida (only a few places like this left). There are wild gators in the pond in the middle of the campground, a pier for fishing - but mostly just quiet, peaceful and laid back. Great "get away from it all" place. Wifi is good only at clubhouse & office area. The owners and camp hosts are friendly and helpful. Inner roads are packed sand/dirt. Sites are big & mostly level.

| Beautiful location

Beautiful little park right on the river. Sites grass, roads well maintained. Mostly I was so impressed by how friendly and helpful everyone was as we were being evacuated from south Florida in advance of hurricane Irma. The highways were jammed, gas stations out of gas. These folks were still guiding campers into sites well after midnight and finding room for everyone. I bet they didn't turn anyone away.

Bird watching paradise. Stars so bright at night. 1500' boardwalk to Suwanne River among the cypress trees. ROOMY spots on good road, not paved. No internet. Watched the Superbowl in the clubhouse. Helpful owners. Trees trimmed so don't hit RV. We passed through one night in a 40' coach with trailer. Would stay again. Pet friendly. Catch and release fishing in pond.

Numerous RV parks in the area but chose this one because it wasn't right on the US 98 - just a few minutes south. Down a hardpacked sand road; sand/grass sites with FHU, cable, picnic table, fire ring. Super quiet. Nice boardwalk out to the river. Hosts were great. Would stay again.

Have stayed here twice and will book again. Off the beaten path a bit but easy access for big rigs. Rustic setting that is well maintained to be natural. Great boardwalk to the Swanee River.

I would give them a 5 but there is absolutely no internet and no cell coverage (not their fault). But if you have no cell coverage, they ought to make a point of having good WIFI. Other than that, nice level sites with good separation. Nice wooded area with trails, etc.

Small but cute spot. Not in the middle of things but a nice stop to make. Very nice owners. Very peaceful setting. Will make it a permanent stop for our annual trip down south.

| Nice quite camp ground

We stopped here in February On the way down South for five nights. Owner and host were very gracious and helpful. We stayed on one of the new spots that was just seeded the grass was lovely. The bathrooms and showers were clean and inviting. Don’t let the dirt road inhibit you. It is well packed and gives this camp ground it’s charm. We enjoyed our walks on boardwalk and trails. Our dogs even got to swim a little on the river. We pull a large toy hauler with a motorcycle and we road out to Cedar Key which is a must see. We plan to return again.
