Reviews for T. O. Fuller State Park

| Good park, bad smell

By user-6111833... on 2017-10-23.

The park is pretty and the people are friendly. Is clean and has a nice little playground for the kids. But man does it stink! If you like sitting around outside, I hoe you like sewer swamp smell!

| Older Park, but nice

This was a nice park not far from Graceland, which was the reason for our stop. While some of the housing districts we drove through were a little worn down we had no problems at all. There were two sections, and we stayed in the first portion, with pull through sites. We had water and electric hookup, dump station as you leave the park. The park host was very nice and helpful. Our spot was level and we had a decent Verizon signal.

| Very nice

Big beautiful trees and nicely placed spaces. Clean shower house, level surface, and very friendly camp host. We were here one night and decided not to sit outside because the mosquitoes like this area as well.

| Was really nice park. Clean bathrooms and well cared for. Stayed at handicap spot 33, leavel black top pad and concrete patio area

| Nice surprise!

By user-6001350... on 2017-10-23.

Arrived after office hours. Beautiful facility. Greeted by host. Paid a modest fee for the night. Very private and surrounded by woods. Does not feel like we are so close to a city.

| Really sweet place

We chose this park based on reviews and we were not disappointed. It is lovely... Wooded and quiet, with clean facilities. One bonus was having the Camp Host, Robert, explain the history of the park, including that role Thomas Fuller played in gaining access to all public spaces for African Americans in the 30's. Out was very interesting and we appreciated Robert taking the time to share the information. One additional bonus was the senior discount which brought the cost of our stay to less than $20.

| Good for one night stay

Bedded down for one night stay. Sites have slight incline on concrete pads. No sewer hookup, but site has a dumping station. Pretty good for $28.00.

| Wonderful surprise

By user-5244768... on 2017-10-23.

We were staying in Memphis and decided to skip the Graceland area RV parks, they really just left us longing for more.. So we chose this park and I'm so glad we did! We arrived after hours and drove straight in (By the way, the directions here will lead you to the visitors center, not the campsite - just follow the signs). There were several very nice paved pads, both pull thru and back in sites, a wonderful playground and immaculate showers/restrooms. There was a Pepsi vending machine, laundry and ice machine on site. I felt bad because several sites were reserved for the whole weekend when there was obviously no one coming. Maybe only about 6 others there. Plenty of space between. Plenty of privacy. Very quiet and very clean. We didn't take advantage of the trails or swimming pool but will add this place to our favorites to come back to again!

| Not scary at all! Nice!

At first the idea of camping in Memphis made me a little Leary, however arriving at 7:30 pm and seeing the ample spaces, clean sites and bathrooms, it was a given. We paid the next morning with the nice attendants at the visitor center. A great rate and decent facilities. Don't miss this one!

| Clean and Accommodating

We stayed here based on RV Parky reviews and really appreciated the break from our coast to coast drive. It was maybe 20 minutes drive off of I-40...and as others mention, through some typical city views. However we arrived in the dark and never felt uncomfortable. Also, based on other reviewers' advice, we followed the park signs, not the GPS. It noted to turn left at the 4 way stop sign after turning off the main street and going through a relatively tidy neighborhood. Instead, we went straight and followed the well placed, brown T.O. Fuller State Park signs. The camp ground is past the visitor's center, down the hill and to the right- all very well marked. We pulled our 37' travel trailer into our site, a fairly level paved site, next to a class A and easily set up with 50 amp service, again- in the dark and had no trouble. The bath house, clearly constructed many years ago, is more than adequate. Being able to take hot showers in December is worth the price of admission alone. Other reviews mention a stench. We didnt smell it at the camp ground, but leaving in the morning we did catch a whiff of what could be river mud since it is right next the river. Over all, a great find for a much needed road weary refresh. Thanks for the good advice and accurate reviews! We stayed on site 35.

We were a little skeptical as you drive through a pretty industrial area to get to the park. However the campground was great, many of the sites have been recently renovated and you can see an effort is being made to maintain them. Clean bath house nice laundry and friendly staff. not far to downtown Memphis. Only issue is there are trains going through the industrial area at all times of the night. This noise should be less when the leaves are on the trees.

| Good Night’s Stay

| Great place to stay

Camp was really clean, quite, convenient and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Paved pad was nice and sites were good sizes.

| Great place to stay when seeing sites in Memphis

By user-4550090... on 2019-08-09.

Beautiful park. Large trees. Large Sites. Most pull through. Clean bathrooms. Even have free ice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. 15 min from Graceland and 15 min from down town. Safe neighborhood surrounding park. It's just a few min off hwy 55. Highly recommend this park.

| Nice and quiet little park

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-11-24 to 2018-11-27

First site we tried was #8 it was not level and we were not able to Auto level our 5th wheel. We moved to site #38 and had no problems leveling. Ranger and host were very friendly. Electric and water were fine. Difficult time getting the satellite to work.

| Smell was awful

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.

Small park, easy access, and large trees. Not the best part of Memphis, run down and industrial park outside of park. The smell from the refinery was awful. Welcome center was closed on Saturday. One we can check off the list. We won't be heading back to this one.

| fine for a night

By user-6529779... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-04-09 to 2019-04-10

The upside is it's close to the highway and easy to get to and the staff was very nice and helpful but the downside is it was buggy and smelly. Fine if you just need a convenient place to stay while on the road but certainly not a destination.

Great little park. About 5 miles from Graceland and 20 minutes from center Memphis. Pretty setting, easy to access sites. Staff very nice. Laundry on site $1.00 per load. Free ice for everyone. Felt very secure. We highly recommend. Good to go into town, then have a quiet Oasis to come back to rest. We are seniors so that's important to us. We highly recommend this park.

| Nice state park

By user-5204580... on 2019-08-09.

Camped here in our 5th wheel. Close to everything in Memphis. Sites are wide and spacious. Easy in and out. Staff are friendly and helpful. If I had to say anything bad it would be its very buggy, so bring your spray. Also ticks abound so be aware. Would stay here again....

| Small, nice CG

By user-5290081... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-05-14 to 2019-05-16

Convenient to Memphis but the roads leading into the CG suck! Bathhouse was roomy however the shower stalls had mold on the walls - and not just a little.

| Close to Graceland

By user-6365633... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-05-14 to 2019-05-15

Nice campground 5 miles from Graceland. Neighborhood around the park isn t the best. Had to drive 10 miles for diesel fuel. Tight turn at far end of campground on the loop. Someone in front of me with a large camper did significant damage hitting a tree on the inside of the turn. Swing wide!
