We stayed in spot #14 in our 38ft 5th wheel for 3 nights while attending the annual Fire Fighters Memorial Service. We registered on line without seeing the sight and never having been in this area before. We were very pleased with our choice as we were backed up right along the river. Each spot had a table and fire ring. Pad was paved with gravel under table and fire ring. Park was very clean and well kept. There are lots of fishermen on the river. The shower house has 2 showers with only 1 door for both. Good water pressure and really enjoyed the warm water. Don't forget to register after arrival at the other campground.
Very nice campground with large concrete pads and full hookups. Clean modern restrooms and showers. There are four different campgrounds in the park, this one is below the dam and the newest. Check-in is at the west overlook campground, which has sites overlooking the lake. Overall very nice stay. Ten minutes to Iowa City which has several nice museums and restaurants.
Overall a nice campground. Concrete pads, clean shower facilities and site next to the water. You need to check in at the campground above the dam. There is no water so you will need to fill your tank while you're up there.
