Reviews for Tall Sycamore Campground

The person quoted below is one of the owner's significant other. Not very professional to review this campground under false pretense. "Stayed: 05/06/16 to 05/07/16 Had no trouble getting RV to my site. Bathrooms were newly painted, fresh and clean. Hosts were friendly and helpful. The view of the river was lovely. The pool was not open yet, but I noticed there was a brand new basketball hoop, which my daughter used to play on. I will plan to return here next time we pass through. We've camped at this campground for years. We have camped in tents and the cabins. The campground is clean and well maintained. The showers and restrooms are clean and the staff are very helpful. I have recommended this campground to all of my friends and family. We have enjoyed family reunions at Tall Sycamore and the kids always enjoy the playgrounds, river and the pool.

This place is a joke,no activities with the exception of Sunday service which is religious in nature and cultist in fervor The pool is vary small if it is not green, small lots and the pull through lots are in the grass and you will get stuck if it rains.Floods in heavy rain and septic overflows into well field and into the already filthy and antiquated bathhouse. It is next to a heavily used fright rail line, trains and whistles all day and nite. No boating and no boat ramps, the river is knee deep at best also no camp store. The hosts leave something lacking, manners and them self's you must stop a the office but no one is around.

Very few of the seasonal campers wouldn't even wave. Felt like a outsider the whole time we were there. To say the managers is rude is an understatement! There is no access to the river without going behind someone else's camper. All of the water spots were full by seasonal campers. Very few younger people there with children, seem like more of an older crowd. On a positive note the bathrooms are kept clean in the pool area was very nice although not heated and freezing cold. Would not recommend

The only hook-up left are water and electric - 30 amp. All others are long term seasonal. The cpground is hilly getting in and the roads and curves narrow. The long tethers park all over the place with their tow vehicles. Fun times...

This campground which we camp at every season is such a nice place to go. They have a swimming pool, which is very nice and clean. The management checks the water everyday to make sure the water is safe in the pool. They have a nice rec room, with services on Sunday. The staff is very friendly and comes around to make sure you are settled in. If you are having problems they will try to help. Very nice services on Sunday morning, and the people there are friendly. We come to this campground every summer and the restrooms are very clean. Our children came to see us and were made to feel welcome, unlike previous management. The river is pleasant, there are trains that comes by and some of the permanents sit at the track. Overall we can't say enough nice things about the staff and how nice it is there. Thank you for making our stay nice.

We camp at this campground every season. The management is very helpful and friendly. They are Christian oriented campground and have non denominational services every Sunday. The manger is also an ordained minister. The seasonal campers are friendly and helpful, The pool and shower house and restrooms are cleaned everyday and on holiday weekends are cleaned more often. there is plenty of fishing spots on the river. There is a hiking trail on the east end of the primitive camp sites. There is two play grounds one has a basket ball court. There is a horseshoe pit. The rec hall has a projection tv with a vcr with many movies available a pop machine and a pool table. The cabins are within walking distance to the shower house they are also located next to the pool. They have carry in dinners for all campers and ice cream socials. As it is by a rairod there is trains come by ut most people enjoy going and watching them go by. We will be returning for the 2016 season.

Clean well maintained Friendly staff No sewer hook ups and water smells from time to time make long term camp a pain if you want to shower in your camper everyday but they do have bi-weekly pumpout service and shower house thats fair. Rumoured to be putting sewer system in part of park for 2017

Called ahead, told the camp host how far we were. When we arrived, he greeted me with, "we don't usually check people in after dark." He briefly said where to go, never gave a map, didn't offer to show where we were supposed to go to park, then remarked, "just don't run over any water lines, I don't want to be up all night." I value customer service, polite people, and got none here! I'd rate this place a zero!!!!

This small campground is tucked in its own little area away from the road on the Wabash river. It is a very quiet place. The river front spots have a beautiful view. They are not very level at all, though. The pull through spots are level, but don't have the view. The campground has a pool and playgrounds. We never found the camp store listed on the website. The bathrooms and showers were clean and the park was well kept. Most of the people there are seasonal/full timers who have been there for years. Everyone was friendly but it does feel a bit like you are a outsider, intruding, because everyone else knows everyone. Their firewood is a great deal. Ten dollars for a very good sized load. The female manager is rude, as stated by others in previous reviews. The full hook ups with sewage appear to be mostly for seasonal folks. Rarely is anyone in the office, but we never had trouble calling and getting what we needed.
