We did not get to stay, but wanted to share what we saw! This is a beautiful lake and had nice fairly level looking spots to park. The next time we drive to Nevada we are definitely coming here!!

We finally planned the trip to stop here on our way into Reno. Glad we did. One area has $6 fee per night and it has picnic tables and seems more developed. We stayed at the more northern site and it looks like an old abandoned campground. It has a pit toilet and dumpster. The road was fine and there were several sites that were pull or back in and two pull through sites all near the top. Then there was a gravel road that went down towards the beach. We read on another site that the ground could be very soft and didn't feel it was necessary to risk it. We were here in March so it's not like we we were going into the water. The site we parked in was a pull through and was pretty level. We were able to keep the tow on and pull out when we left pretty easily. The area is beautiful and very convenient to the highway. There was a $4 fee for Tamarack beach (where we stayed) but we didn't pay as the pay area is evidently at the other campground area. The highway was pretty quiet at night and the mountains and lake are beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful spot. Quiet even though it is by the highway. Beware - Pay Station is all the way down by the lake. We camped about three tiers up from the lake - was quite a walk to pay. Pick out site - pay - then park. With Golden pass only $3 fir the night.
