We came here for medical care at VAMC-Asheville (a mile away). It has been convenient as I ended up with surgery. Long-term rate is $700 per month (this includes 10 nights free). The rates do not fluctuate with the season. This includes water, power, sewer, basic cable tv and wifi (not enough to stream). Parking is tight, but maneuverable if you know your rig or have a spotter. I have not used the facilities or laundry here. There are 2 local and safe laundromats that we frequent when running errands. Children live here; they are very young and home-schooled. Beware of drivers who do not comply with 'one way' signs or the 5 mph speed limit. Mr. Bill (Rhodes) owns the campground. He isnt always here (he has errands, too), but the business phone is his personal cell phone. He can be here in about 5-10 minutes, depending upon the errand and traffic. We will definitely be back for summer extended stays. However, if you want to watch the leaves change colors, call a few months in advance for reservations. This is prime camping for foliage watching. Also, it is best to like trains because just behind the narrow Swannanoa River is a busy set of railroad tracks.

| Price is higher, trains blow their horns all night, owner is nice

The parks that were recommended to me were booked up so I found this on RVParky. The price is not as posted either. It was $39.95 and 10% off for Good Sam for a short back in $30 amp. The reviews I saw were fair to good so I gave it a try. We were coming in late so he said to pick up a place and take care of it in the morning. We came in and picked a spot and quickly set up. My husband would rather use restrooms , rather than our toilet so he headed over to the restrooms only to find them locked. Not happy but ok. And we did have a nice little river behind us that sounded delightful. A few minutes later we discovered on the other bank of the river had train tracks. We had 4 trains within an hour, all blowing their horns. We frequently had trains, including all night. This morning we went over to tell him we couldn't stay and he told us the trains don't blow their horns because there aren't any crossings. We told him they did last night. We won't be back.

| Small clean park not for kids

Sites are small but level with concrete pads. Bathrooms are very clean but there are only two private bathrooms for the entire park. A good place for adults wanting to explore Asheville
