Reviews for The Fair Park RV-Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park

| It's a parking lot...

By user-5806911... on 2017-10-23.

... and I would even go as far as saying that this is even a dump. We stayed here for a night because we had to be in the area. Thank god it was only one night. - Checked in on a Sunday Afternoon, super unfriendly guy at checkin. Oh boy. - Had to stay on a gravel lot although other backins with grass were available - Restrooms and showers old and dirty Totally overpriced at $40 per night for a backin. But this may be the only option when having to stay in the area... yikes.

They list pull through sites but that's not the norm as most are back in. There is no playground, dog run (leash rule is not enforced), or pool/hot tub. The laundry room machines are older and it takes about 4 dollars a load if you already have your own soap and dryer sheets, otherwise the price jumps to 5.50-6 dollars per load. The facilities are otherwise clean. No convenient store on site so make sure you have absolutely everything if you have one car and someone has to be gone for awhile. Nothing within walking distance unless your a avid exercise enthusiast. The dirt spaces are really tight.. See photos so ask for a grass space. We asked to upgrade but they didn't have any available so we can't have our dogs outside otherwise they are sitting on gravel. The neighbors sewer house and drain is next to our front door so there is no lounging in front if the camper plus we couldn't extend our awning do to lack of space. There are showers but I have not used them to see if they are clean or not. I believe my husband said 260 or 280 for the week here on this cramped dirt space. No fire pits or benches at sites most likely due to space. Our truck hangs over our space(in the driveway) due to cramped quarters also. Positives: good Wi-Fi, clean laundry room, nice staff, and clean lot. That is the only reason they got 3 stars.

| Not to bad as a jumping base

It's a good place starting or ending a trip. Friendly staff. Perfect online reservation via smart phone. Direction confusing: address is the main Address of the fairground. RV Park Access on the opposite.

We stay here every May for our kids birthdays and then at Christmas. But due my wife falling and breaking her right femur. Needless to say we did not make Christmas or the kids birthday. But we hope to be there this Christmas. They said we will be able to stay free because we paid for Christmas of this year past.

| $40 rate for 30 amp

This is a gravel lot with a bit of grass next to the fairground. There is a $20 per person refundable charge for a bathroom/laundry key. The spaces are very tight. The laundry and bathrooms were very clean. No discounts are given but since we were visiting friends in San Francisco, we figured the cost was still way below anything else for the area.

| Overpriced

50 per night for 50 amp pull thru. Dog restrictions not enforced.

Come in gate 12. Not much around but if you need a spot close to the Bay Area this will do. Make sure you have a good length of seer hose sewer connections way in back of most sites. Here after hard rain lots of puddles and mud.

| Gophers and sardines.

Only place to RV in the area and it’s obvious. Packed in like sardines. Our slide out was maybe 3 feet from neighbors and we had a “larger” grass pull thru. Grass not cut it’s about 6 inches long. Gopher holes EVERYWHERE! Almost broke my ankle one morning after the nights gopher digging. People parked in front of our RV had to get manager to get them to move so I could park - which they did immediately. If you need to stay near the bay this is a place to park not an RV park.

| Basic, and a bit rough

By user-5787836... on 2018-05-17. Stayed 2018-04-23 to 2018-04-24

It's basically a fenced gravel parking lot with bathroom amenities that are ok but a bit rough. Lady that welcomed us was nice. Supermarket and other shops about 5 minute drive away.

Sites are very close. With slides out we had 2 feet on one side and 3 on the other. Park could use some maintenance and weeds/grass cut. It was convenient for us and was in beautiful Pleasanton, CA

Sauber, günstig. Einfacher Stellplatz. Genau das richtige für die Vorbereitung zur Rückgabe.

| Only RV Park in Area and They Know It

By user-5901139... on 2019-08-09.

Stayed a couple times here out of necessity. Front lots are better, but all very tight. Back spaces are even tighter and have misplaced hookups. Sewer lines running under trailer, etc. Needed extra 20' of hose to connect. When we left the last time, took an hour to locate all truck owners to move trucks so we could get out. Parking completely haphazard and unorganized. Last straw, we needed to cancel reservation, gave lots of notice, but informed there are no refunds under any circumstances. Period! We won't be back. Hotels are better option.

| This is for South Lot, the North ?

By user-5807491... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-09-06 to 2018-09-08

We called and reserved, arrived at office, the North lot, it looked decent, not that many people...for so nbn w reason they gave me a space in the South lot. When arrived, as it is down the road, it looked like a band of gypsies live there. The lot I was assigned was taken so I parked in one next to it. No hot water in showers, when I called I was told they put in a new well...and working on it, but I could come to the north lot to shower. My neighbor was a permanent resident, as was about 90% of the campers..with a dog that howled all day starting at 6am. I paid $35 for 30 amp. If I came again I would insist on staying in the North lot.

Our bikes were stolen and we got kicked out for calling the police. The manager, A, wouldn t even listen and told us to be out by the afternoon and instructed us not to call the police, only management. We paid our rent 6 weeks in advance mind you. It s a very low income RV park with old RVs. You have to move spots every 3 weeks, no exception supposedly but there were campers that didn t move the whole 5 miserable months we were there. The residents are strange and stare at you all the time. We were left without running water about once a week and the last time it was off for over 12 hours. There s only a camp host with a voicemail after hours and they never call you back so we were left without water several times overnight with no explanation. Pets are welcome, even huge pit bulls . Pick up after your pet not enforced either. WiFi is pretty non existent.
