we have camped at Harbor Shores for the Three Lakes shootouts for years & always make our reservations a year in advance because we prefer a few specific sites. New owners took over two years ago. Last year, our sites were changed. Same thing this year! I received an email from the manager, indicating: 1) they changed up the campground; therefore, some of the sites were removed/changed. I understand that--no problem 2) someone who wanted a seasonal site trumped us. Yup, I understand that, also. 3) a larger rig is coming in; therefore, one party in our group has been moved to a different site. Why?? We reserved that site a year ago! Why does someone get that site when calling 10 days before the event? Poor business practice
New owner and manager are the best. Everything being updated. Relaxed atmosphere, large sites. Will go again for sure.
We booked for 3 nights but left after 2. It s mostly for seasonal campers leaving a few tight spots for travelers. Roads are dirt (not gravel)as was our spot. WiFi was unusably slow. Showers are pay, which I didn t know before booking. Our first night we awoke at 1am to loud music and people dancing and singing around their campfire across from us. No one to call, so my husband walked over after 1/2 an hour to ask them to please turn it off so we could sleep, they obliged. The next night at 2:30a.m.drunks loudly walking back into the campg round woke us up! The beach is across the hey. Down the road and one family with 3 children filled it up, that s how big the beach is!
