Reviews for Thousand Lakes RV Park

| Nice park

By user-5843103... on 2017-10-23.

Nice park with full hook up. There is a small pool and a huge well maintained grass pay area. Easy access and at least some shade on each site (a nice plus in the desert!) There is a small store and the people are very friendly. The tent sites look small but have a privacy fence between each and open into the field. We would come back if in the area.

Capitol Reef is a hidden gem and this park is a great place to stay. We came right after they opened for the year. It was too cold for the pool to be open, but they have a great basketball court and a fun little park for the kids. We really enjoyed this park.

If you are looking for an awesome RV park, this is it. I give it 4.5 stars. This park has it all and it's well taken care of. Big rig friendly. The only negative I have is that the pool closes at 730 pm.

This is more like a resort with a pool, grassy play area, unique general store and even an evening BBQ! It is well-groomed and maintained. The newer sites do not have shade or grass, but the older ones are quite nice. Beautiful setting near Capital Reef. We only paid $37 with Good Sam discount. I would definitely recommend it!

| A Great Place!!!

The people are very helpful and friendly. The park is clean .... no trash. The restrooms and showers are very clean, but the hot water tanks seemed to be small ... the shower slowly got only warm. Gravel roads and sites most with shade. The sites are mostly level .... you'll need a block or two. Grill and cafe on site ... good food. Our friends really liked their cabin. The WiFi signal was good but the service was very slow at times. Water pressure not very high. Great surroundings. I would stay here again in our 25' trailer.

| Rather pleasant

Really nice people, very helpful. Great views. And excellent RV/vehicle service and repair next door. My only dislike is no sewage on site, yet the dump station is easy to access.

| Nice park, very convenient to Capitol Reef N.P.

We stayed at Thousand Lakes the end of June, 2017. The campground was super convenient to Capitol Reef N.P. 6 miles to the entrance and another 6 to the Visitor Center. The campground is as one would expect in this part of Utah...flat, red clay and beautiful views. Our gravel site was level, had a shade tree, picnic table, and a fire pit...with plenty of space between us and the guy in the adjacent site. We were pulling a tow vehicle with our 25' Motorhome, so were 42' long overall and had room to spare in our site w/o unhooking the toad. The interior roads through the campground were easy to navigate. Our dogs appreciated the well watered and mowed patches of grass at the end of the aisles. There is a pool and playground. The camp store is really nice and has a good selection of snacks, rv items and souvenirs...the buyer does a good job. Staff was friendly. We paid $41 incl tax, for a pull thru with FHU...not sure we were credited for the 10% Good Sam discount. I would definitely stay here again. If you are coming this way, I highly recommend taking the more scenic and slower routes across UT...Hwy 24 and Hwy 12. The scenery is stunning and traffic practically nil. The landscape is absolutely breathtaking...unlike anything you will see in other parts of the world.

| Very nice

Called ahead and the staff checked the cameras on the highway for us before we started toward the campground to make sure there was no snow or ice. Very clean, well kept maintained campground. Bathrooms and showers were super clean.

| Go down the road to the other two parks!

By user-5870685... on 2018-05-17.

We showed up on a Thursday without a reservation because there was no service in the National Park we came from. There were only dry sites left, no water or electric, for $22 a night with Good Sam discount. One woman at the desk had a bad attitude and the other one clearly didn’t know what she was doing. After taking my money I asked what time the quiet hours were and made the mistake of saying I wanted to know for the RV generator and got “NO GENERATORS!” rudely yelled at me. I read over the long list of rules printed with my park map and there was nothing on it about generators. What place has RV sites without electric and doesn’t allow generators during non-quiet hour times?

Large spaces, nicely cared for areas, some trees, good location for visiting Capitol Reef NP. There is even a BBQ restaurant on grounds for dine in or take out. Staff is friendly and helpful. Sites are mostly level. Views are good and nights are pretty quiet. Deer pass nearby. Good for pets with owners that clean up after their dogs. We would return!

| Very nice RV park, everything you need

By user-6108125... on 2019-08-09.

This is a first class RV park. The sites are larger than many of the others with beautiful scenery. The park is very well-maintained. Very nice for a family with plenty of room and areas for children to play. It is convenient for visiting capital reef national Park.
