Tom Johnson Camping World is first and foremost an RV sales and service business. Impressive in all of its robustness, but camping felt like it was an afterthought even with their 66 full service concrete padded sites. They haven't attended to the little things: no picnic tables, no dedicated fire pits, no pull-through sites. I asked for a river front site which they gave me only to find the immediate surrounding area to be covered in snow. It was late January and moving to a different site wasn't an issue, but I don't think the reservation lady or her supervisor had double checked to ensure the river front site were rental ready. The staff was friendly and courteous.

We purchased our travel trailer from Tom Johnson and stayed here 2 nights to try it out! The campground isn't much in the way of entertainment (no playground, etc) - it seemed more to me like the kind of place you would stay when you were driving through. Very little shade, but full hookups, level sites. 30-ish minute drive to Asheville. We enjoyed our two nights there.

I stayed at Tom Johnson Camping World for a rally and was disappointed in their dog policy. My dog is a very important part of my family. I was told that my dog was not welcome in the grassy area around the pavilion "because of the kids" When I pointed out that there were many more dogs than kids I was told. "Im sorry That's the rules maybe you can see the new Manager" By this time I was feeling alienated and decided to just quit doing business here. If they were more dog friendly I would have given the park a 4 star rating. I just can't do business with people who make me like I'm second class for having a dog.

Very quiet, large spaces, easy access, great breakfast, concrete pads level, and nice people.

The sites are all back-in concrete and level pads... nice. However, no cable (and only two channels OTA), no internet or pool. Clearly design to provide parking for those getting service on their RVs. No problem... just know what you're getting.

Stayed two weeks. Nice level concrete sites and paved roads. Verizon three bars. Many open sites so sat. works great. Will stay again.
