We have been camping here on and off for 15 years. The only thing that has changed is the helpfulness of the staff - they aren't. Registration is CASH OR CHECK ONLY. No credit cards, and the process is archaic, relying on mail-in deposits and a handwritten index card tracking system. The only reason we return is that they offer really the only true waterfront campsites on the island. Waking up to ponies grazing across the river is worth the annoyances.
The armpit of campgrounds. Dirty, rude, and over priced for what little they offer.
This is one of my 13 year old favorites. He can fish all day off the Pier and take a rest at the game room. Clean showers and bathrooms. Been going here for years. Time to start doing some maintenance and clean up the yearly areas
No info given when we checked in about services offered or just general info......no children's programs, nothing going on at all...WAY to packed..stayed a week...will not be back...very clean showers & bathrooms..
WAY over packed. A nightmare to drive to unless your camping in your mini cooper. And to top it off, they don't take credit card reservations nor reservations over the phone or net, you have to mail them in.
Through the years I have stayed at most of the campgrounds on the island. This is my favorite. It is also the cheapest. I stay a few weekends a year. Always clean and staff is always helpfull.
