CANNOT HAVE PETS
A little piece of paradise. This is a county park. I think we paid $23 a night, cash only. Only 15 sites, so it was peaceful. Half the sites are right on the lake. Kayak or canoe right from your site. The have a boat ramp too. No swimming allowed. However, you cannot reserve a spot, it's first come first served. Bathrooms and showers were clean. No sewer hookup, but dump station available. First night was still warm out, so the mosquitos were out. Ten minute drive to Mount Dora.
Pets are definitely allowed here there are pet walk areas. Previous reviewer is incorrect.
I called them to say I was going to be late. I already paid in advance for my site. I was 29 minutes late. It was dark, they close the gates at 8pm. I asked for the gate code. He denied it saying I have register. He said I was at the wrong gate. Said at least I didn't lie about showing up. Wait...what? I already paid. Then got on the phone to ask after hours person for help. She was rude, inconsiderate and said the park closes at 8. I'm out if luck. Both will be reported to the board if county Commissioners. Beautiful park ruined by these county employees.
Good location but hard to deal with their strange rules. Can t check in after closing. Can t register/ check in unless RV is with you. Dirt roads and it floods when it rains. Mosquitoes carry you away at times. Dogs got ticks everyday.
