| Great park

By user-5859983... on 2017-10-23.

You never know what a park is really like until you get there. We got lucky, because this park is great! Our spot is up in the pines on the second level. Very spacious and even has a nice patio. Beautiful views. Smells wonderful. A little noise from highway 70 but not bad at all. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Wish we were staying longer than two nights. We'll definitely be back.

| Rude reception

Night and day form our visit in January. The people that were there in January were very friendly and helpful. The old lady that was there for our summer trip was rude to everyone in our party. We brought three trailers worth of business to them and they showed zero appreciation. Simple questions about pool hours brought snide remarks from her. We were scattered about the park due to the peak season, and when our friends stopped by on their way out of the park, employees were immediately dispatched to ensure no one parks more than one vehicle on a site. There was plenty of room for another vehicle, especially one that was just quickly stopping by to pass on some information. We were there in a fifth wheel, our friends in a fifth wheel and travel trailer. We've all decided that this will be our last visit to this campground. And just like that they lost the business of four families who travel to Ruidoso frequently.

| Winter Camping

We had three friends join us here in their own travel trailers/5ers. The sites are spacious and accommodated our 35' 5er easily. The winter sites were all back-in sites but easy to back into. We will definitely return for summer camping to experience the upper sites (which were not accessible during the snow season). The staff was very friendly and the park was very family friendly. They allowed us to borrow disks for the children to slide down the hills. One thing, be careful on the approach or you'll miss the entrance.
