Rude Crazy Owners!
By user-5423214... on 2017-10-23.
I called ahead and reserved an RV spot for 2 nights. I was quoted $36 a night on the phone for a full hook-up site. They would not take my credit card on the phone and said to pay upon arrival. When I arrived, they wanted to charge me $60/night a total of $120. I complained that I was quoted $36/night just a few days ago on the phone. The owner response was nasty, rude and a slightly crazy.
I've stayed at multiple RV campgrounds, parks and resorts all over the nation and this was the worst experience by far.
Do not stay here unless you want to be cheated and disappointed.
Total Bait and Switch!

Incredible campground!
By user-5875452... on 2017-10-23.
We got to Durango early evening and had no problem getting an RV site- very nice and accommodating people. The best part was the train coming by! Very clean, beautiful campground. Would stay there again, no problem.

I don't understand comments about owners. They were very sweet and welcoming. We paid $45 which is a little overpriced when the pool Isn't available yet.

Good, close to town

Good HQ for sightseeing and trips to view spectacular mountain scenery and points of interest. Sites are closely spaced, pull-thrus, with utilities in a front-back arrangement. You should uncouple the toad at the check-in building. Roads and pads are gravel, management runs a water-wagon several times a day to tamp down the dust - nice. Trees block satellite TV at many sites, cable was not working. Wi-Fi was free and good. Sites with the view of mountains are next to the Durango-Silverton railroad tracks, and the train will entertain you 4-times a day.

Love the trains, $45.00/nite

Very narrow sites, all gravel, great location. Don't expect to get satellite reception, got all the OTA stations. Very nice owners always on site.

United Campground Durango

A tight and run down park. Very handy for downtown Durango hence the high price $47 with tax. The cable TV is non operative permanently. About 1/3 of the sewer hookups seem inoperable. Some grass, gravel lots need some work. Showers old and have no shower head so it's like standing under a hose. Not really clean either. We left after 1 night.

Really enjoyed our stay. Staff are very nice and grounds are well kept. Great location just north of Durango downtown. Trolley stops at park so can ride to town for 50 cents. This was our first visit but will be back in future. Stayed in a 36 Fifthwheel .

Gravel sites and roads with some hills. Nice bathhouse. Good place to park while exploring the area. Narrow Gauge RR runs through lower part of CG daily. WIFI worked sufficiently and ATT cell service was OK.

Very pretty park, located just above the Animas River. The Durango/Silverton train runs just below the park, so you do see the train and hear the whistle blowing a few times/day, but earliest is 8:30 am and latest is about 9 pm. Trolley stop is across the road from the office and you can ride to town for $1 or $.50 for seniors. Runs every 20 mn and only takes 15 mn to get to farthest spot at train depot. Parking there is $8. Would definitely stay here again!
