This is a great park. Dry camping, but a great experience. There are tons of hiking trails with sweeping views of Phoenix. Also, there is an area of outdoor work-out machines. We carry bikes with us\, biked to the area, used the equipment and biked back. All in all, a great work out. Love the saguaro cactus.
Usery's location just outside of Mesa gives a taste of the country but still close to the city. Campground is quiet. Sites are spaced nicely. Bathrooms clean & most showers are hot. Many types of hiking trails, easy to challenging. Nice view of Phoenix. Campground fills up fast. Make reservations early. $30/night.
This is a fantastic campground. We stayed here for Spring Training. It’s a little far out if you are going to games on the west side of the valley, but the location is beautiful. Sites were large and nicely spaced. The park is quiet and the facilities were spotless. There was even soap at the restroom sinks. You won’t find a nicer location in the Phoenix area . . . Especially for the price.
