Reviews for Ute Mountain RV Park & Casino

| Nice

Park is generally very nice. Dog park has no grass, no shade, and the fence doesn't reach the ground in several places. Quiet, shady spots with grass side yards abound. The weeds have abundant rams head thorns and are very hard on the feet of humans and canines

Got stranded here due to a breakdown. Found it to be a nice place. $1.99 breakfast at Casino is good. Would stay again.

| Pretty park

Stayed in a 42 mh with air bag leveling. Site was not level and required that we use leveling blocks to elevate our front enough to be able to level. A days work with a good grader would assist with the sites being level. Other than that, the park was very nice, gd electrical, water and each site has its own garbage can. Plenty of grass and trees to keep any pup happy. People do need to remember that puppy poo needs to be cleaned up, but sites were pretty clean. Easy walk over to the casino for dinner or breakfast. There is a nice non-smoking area to play in. Showers were spacious and had good hot water . Nice place for over night or a longer stay. There is sufficient walking within the park negating the need to walk out on the roads especially with a dog.

| Beautiful Cortez Mesa Verde Area

By user-4890698... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-04-10 to 2016-05-07

The Cortez and surrounding area is a beautiful place and a fun area to explore, we were within driving distance of Mesa Verde, Hovenweep pueblo ruins, Canyonlands, and Arches National Park, oh and check out McElmo canyon, now that was a scenic drive. The city of Cortez just 10-15 minutes away was a small city with some good microbrews to visit and some nice parks and in general nice people. The Park was well kept, and staffed by friendly people in the office, great cable tv, and the price was reasonable. They welcomed older RV's, and kids, and our dog so we were grateful for that. Most of the people in the Ute area seemed nice, but some of them definitely did not, in fact I took my dog for a walk not even a mile away from the RV Park and a guy pulled over to tell me that I needed to get back to the RV Park because the people there liked to get drunk and they'd probably shoot us white people if they saw us there. Needless to say, I didn't go for walks there much after that so that was unfortunate. The park is on the Ute Indian reservation so alcohol is completely prohibited so no sitting outside to enjoy a campfire and sip on a cold brew, so that was a bit of a downer. Other people in the park seemed nice. The security in the park is intense, which I suppose is a good thing in a way, but the security has a vehicle that looks like a police car and they stop behind every RV campsite for a few minutes like 5 or 6 times a day, so it was a little uncomfortable but just because we always felt "watched". I like to play craps on occasion and the Casino was pretty fun to visit since they actually had tables to play rather than just the electronic games. The restaurant in the Ute casino was great, good food and very reasonable. They had a nice facility and decent laundry, the showers each required a key that you had to pickup and return only during business hours so it was teenie-tiny shower time for me in my RV since it was a little too inconvenient. They had a indoor pool there that looked great but we didn't use it. There's an easy access gas station right near by and the prices were decent so it was easy to get fuel before we headed out. It was a well designed park and all the camp spots were nice, flat enough, and grass was fairly abundant. We stayed for a month here, which we usually try to do, and in general we enjoyed our stay here but by the time the month was up we were ready to get outta dodge and move on to a park where we could take walks without being worried about intruding. We'd stay again, but probably not for a full month.

Sites level bathrooms spotless. It was Quiet and they gave you 5.00 towards the casino if you want. There is no alcohol allowed in casino so that is not rowdy. Very clean. Only downside the camp store is not stocked well and pool closes early. There is security.

Overpriced for a casino internet so slow it's basically doesn't work cable TV seems okay all the parking spaces so you need leveling jacks or a lot of blocks I guess it's okay for this area

Had a nice 3 days here. Staff was friendly and helpful. Sites could use a little TCL, leveling etc. Trees make for good shade and outside lounging.

| One of the Best During 7 Months of Travel

By user-5251281... on 2019-08-09.

We are not casino people, and with this park associated with the Mountain Ute Casino, we were skeptical about staying. What a very pleasant surprise. This is a top-notch RV park at a really good price. Amazing views of Sleeping Ute mountain range. Nice layout with rowed shade trees. Receptionist was very welcoming and professional allowing us to pick our site. Gravel sites with patch of grass, concrete patio and picnic table. All sites are FHU seemed pretty level (I did not see folks using extensive leveling blocks most had no blocks) and all had modern connections. Excellent cable with lots of channels and excellent Wifi. Bathhouse is the nicest/cleanest we have seen in seven months of travel. Lots of tribal security patrolling so very safe. On that note: this is tribal land with tribal laws; please respect that no open consumption of alcohol. Offers all kinds of discounts options.

Pleasantly surprised. Stopped here after a long day of visiting Monument Valley and Four Corners. The price was reasonable at $37 with GS discount. They have just about everything. Our girls enjoyed the indoor pool and (lukewarm) hot tub. Bath house was beautiful and clean. Nice shaded pull thru spots. Grassy areas nice for the dog. We stayed an extra day to catch up on laundry and enjoy the pool. Dinner at the casino was decent. No cable though that we saw and air channels did not come through. Would stay again.
