Vallecito Resort is definately a great place for a family to stay near Vallecito Lake. Overall the park is quiet, yet active. We stayed in Space 112 while visiting the area. We had plenty of space and some nice shade. We enjoyed nice walks around the park and the residents were quite nice. The kids enjoyed the well shaded and historic park. The onsite tackle shop definately was nice, but would not consider overstocked. Also, be prepared for potential fire restrictions. We humans have not been so kind to the forests around this area recently! The only reasons I can't give Vallecito Park a perfect 5 is the lack of total privacy between sites (A key criteria to the outdoor camping experience, in my opinon) and RV Parky does not allow 4 1/2 stars.
We love it! The people are so helpful and friendly. Looking forward to spending a few days here!
