Great place. Stayed one night. Friendly folks. Pet play area, pond, pool, showers and laundry facilities. Beautiful sunset. Will definitely stay here again!

| No longer KOA

By user-6057646... on 2017-10-23.

We have stayed here several times when it was KOA. Very little change. Paid $36 per night w/GS discount. The restaurant appears to be the same. Same menu, same hours. The thing I like most about this park is no train or traffic noise.

| Adequate

By user-5843359... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-07-21 to 2016-07-22

No longer a KOA. Easy to find and far enough off highway so there was no road noise. Cafe is closed for season. Check in was easy and staff friendly. Explained that the internet may be slow as the park was full. Well we were up at 5 am and it was still slow. Facilities are older but clean. They have tried to accommodate many needs with a pool, playground and dog park.

| Good place to relax

By user-5515726... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2017-03-07 to 2017-03-09

This is a great stop on the long travel across Texas. The spaces are really large... great for easy in and easy out. We also liked having the cafe onsite, as there isn't much in town. The breakfast was particularly good. WiFi wasn't good, but everything else was good.

| Very basic, clean

By user-5517425... on 2017-10-23.

Terrible wifi, even the office can't get on. Laundry facilities, showers are good. Nothing around, Van Horn is a rest stop not a destination

Love love love this place. Clean and level site with a shade tree. Owners and workers are very friendly. Would stay here again.

Very nice place! Stayed one night. Very friendly and helpful customer service. Very clean. Loved the pond and the dog area was great. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for all your help.

| I like this place.

By user-6495712... on 2017-10-23.

We stayed here twice in July 2015. Easy on and off of I-10. Fuel and groceries nearby. Park is far enough from the highway that its quiet. Friendly staff. They sell cold beer in the office store. The pool is incredible in the summer. I will return.

| Outstanding!!!!!

By user-6057085... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2015-07-31 to 2015-08-02

Park is clean and well kept. The staff is more welcoming than most family. I'm so glad we ventured away from the hwy and stumbled upon this gem. It used to be a KOA, now all I see is a good Sam affiliation. The pull thru site I was assigned was HUGE!!!!!! Wifi can be spotty, but that's not a real concern for me. They have a catch and release fishing pond, 2 off leash dog areas, pool, laundry etc etc. this will now be a regular stop for me when I'm in the area.

| Decent park away from traffic noise

By user-6227203... on 2017-10-23.

Like others have said, lots of space. All pullthru's. Cafe closed for the summer. Bothersome flies everywhere. Grocery store in town is tiny, but adequate. Restaurants are mediocre at best. Good for a one or two night stay at most. Really, nothing to do but sleep.

| Good overnight stop

By user-5839307... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2015-01-22 to 2015-01-23

We ended our travel day early due to an impending winter storm. The park is located far enough from the highway to minimize road and train noise but still easy to get on and off the highway. Nice clean park with level sites and mostly pull throughs. The staff was friendly. Make sure you have dinner at the old hotel in the center of town. Historic structure with good food. We camped with a fifth-wheel trailer and would stay here again.

| Gone is KOA. In is... Awesome

By user-2011001 on 2017-10-23.

Great staff. WiFi that us actually available at site, and a cafe that delivers. Wow. Super p k ace. Stayed here b4 when it was KOA. Will definitely stay now that it isn't.

| Very nice

By user-6719667... on 2017-10-23.

Level, wifi was great but there weren't that many people there. Nice owners. It is no longer a K O A. It has a lot of rabbits. Clean and neat restrooms. Pool is small.

| Good park

By user-4654464... on 2017-10-23.

Did an over nighter with 31' travel trailer. Pull thru long enough so you do not have to disconnect. Friendly staff and food was available.

| Great spot except for goatheads

By user-5476058... on 2017-10-23.

Park is nice and level, beautiful views, friendly helpful staff. Very little grass but there were boatheads right outside our door and in the dog park. We had to walk our dog down the middle of roadways to avoid them. We had to examine our shoes when came into rv for fear of stepping on one these stickers with our bare feet.

| Easy in and out

By user-5796344... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-03-11 to 2016-03-12

Very friendly efficient owners, cafe with breakfast at 7:30 through dinner until 8. Easy pull through sites, a lot of extra room and we have a 35 ft with flat tow. Would highly recommend, we would stay here again, easy access.

| Great Spot

By user-6659863... on 2017-10-23.

Clean, quiet with hard pack gravel/grassy sites. Nice little stocked catch and release pond. Close access to freeway and fuel. Would stay here for an overnight, extended stay or snow bird.

| Five stars

By user-4903994... on 2017-10-23.

Great RV. Park stayed overnight. It's gonna be our place to stay when we are in the area .We give it five stars

| Chickens all over the place

By user-6227203... on 2017-10-23.

I decided to change my review to just one star. There a noisy chickens running around the place. Not caged, mind you, completely loose. I thought this was an rv Park, not a farm! So, there's chicken shot everywhere, on the picnic tables and vehicles.

Nice stop. Stayed two nights so we could do laundry and rest. Very friendly staff and nice cafe, good food. The goat heads are a pain but we deal with them.

| A Gem

By user-5304070... on 2018-05-17.

Off the interstate and quiet. Office is open until 8 pm year round and has a small market with some basic staples. Friendly staff. Dated but serviceable bathrooms and laundry. They have a cafe that serves breakfast and dinner. They sell LP gas.

| Smelled like Sewage, Cafe not open

By user-4980169... on 2018-07-06. Stayed 2018-06-21 to 2018-06-22

The park is clean but smelled strongly like sewage. The Cafe isn’t open in the summer. Very lack-luster for the amount charged.

| Good 1 nite stand

By user-6497165... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-08-07 to 2018-08-08

It is mid summer and the park is almost empty. The sites are good, clean and well maintained. Would stay again if we are in the area.

| Old KOA but Good 1 Niter

By user-5190556... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-08-27 to 2018-08-28

Stayed for one night in the miserable heat. It's an old KOA and everything within it is old. However, the staff is super nice, the store is stocked, the bathrooms are clean, and the spots are level. The spots are indeed close together and being in the desert shade is at a premium. The pool is small but clean and cool. It's a good overnight spot but not a place to vacation IMO.

| Nice stopping place

By user-5062563... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-09-26 to 2018-09-28

Nice, quite and friendly place to break up the trip across Texas

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.

This is the wrong address, toke us to a dead end road. Lots of fun turning our 40 foot Motorhome and tow car! The correct address is : 10 Kampers Lane. Very nice camp hosts.

| Always so nice

Always our go spot to overnight on the way back from Tucson- no complaints

| Always a Great Stop

Nice RV spaces can get pretty sparse in West Texas. But here in this town of 2,000 is one of the nicer parks on the map. We were in the post-holiday snowbird rush west and we re glad we called early. Not only that, we were running low on propane. They happily accommodated us on our arrival. We were glad to see a Dollar General on the main drag for some needed supplies. But the big treat here is always dining at Penney s Cafe. Breakfast is :30 - 9:30. Dinner is 5:30 - 8:00. Tonight we decided on the Salisbury steak and fresh peach cobbler for dessert. Pure comfort food. Reasonable prices. And the shower rooms were spotless ... shower water was hot. Of course we ll return.

| Top Notch!

By user-6344256... on 2019-08-09.

We designed our winter trip to stop a few times! 3 I think, in 3 months between Tucson, Big Bend and then back east. Get there in time for the restaurant (5:30-8:00pm) and have some of Romie s delicious cat fish! Breakfast (all home made) is 7:00-9:30 and Lacey even volunteered to deliver biscuits & gravy to my husband in the morning.

| Great for overnight

By user-4554685... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-03-18 to 2019-03-19

Easy check-in and friendly staff. Easy on/off the interstate. Our site was pretty level and long enough for our 45 MH and tow. Decent enough spacing between sites. Interior roads and sites are gravel and red dirt. The WII FI didn t work we could connect but there was no internet. Directv and Verizon worked fine. There is a small restaurant on site but we didn t visit. They give you a menu when you check-in though. Good for an overnight.

| Good Sam Park

By user-5847172... on 2019-08-09.

Great place to stay. The restrooms and showers were the cleanest I have ever seen. Lots of bunnys and desert flowers. Breakfast looked good, but we left too early. Pool was dry.

| Very Nice!

Very nice overnight stop. Friendly staff. Cafe serves breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was very fresh made to order. Biscuits were excellent. Although we didn't have dinner other guests told us it was great home cooking. A definite stop when we're back this way!
