The info given for Waylon Jennings RV Park is incorrect. It is on Highway 385 south of town. Only has two places with full hookups. Maybe six places with water and electricity. Donations accepted. Pay after four days. This is July 2015. Other park is playground.
Not a big fancy RV park but great for overnight. Quiet and safe city park with only a few sites. 2 are pull thru that held our 43 foot tow hauler with truck attached. Has horse shoe pit and play ground. Free or donation for first 4 nights then $20 a night.
Located on Hall Ave (hwy 385) and 15th. There are sites with full hook up and partial between the community center and Waylon Jennings rv park. Several horseshoe pits. Located by the baseball fields. The restrooms are locked. Donations appreciated for your stay. The veterans memorial is great.
Quiet, small clean park. 2 pull throughs. Free for the first few nights. We only stayed the night, so it was nice not to have to pay $30 to $40 for 12 hours.
Left side of the horse shoe pits is 8 short back in places with water and power all with concrete picknic tables and roofs but the 2 pull threws at the end. Right side of horse shoe pits is 16 places in one long row with full hookups. Across from that is 10-12 more electrical boxes going perpendicular on the other side of the road along the huge gravel parking lot. (Which is behind a Memorial) On the other side of the fence behind the sani dump is 4-5 more electrical box in a grasshopper parking lot. And I'm sure you can park in that huge parking lot with no hookups. About 3-4 Acres. Ace hardware right next store. Seems to always have a lot of cheap stuff clearanced out. Cold cans of soda pop 38ยข and free popcorn. Next to Ace, or down a little is a nice laundry mat. Dollar general down by O'Riley's auto parts has cheapest food and beers. Walking distance to City Park with a huge concrete walking path. 18th St West, 3 blocks. The only downside is everywhere we went to eat was a complete diaster. McDonald's, Sonic or whatever, pizza hut a few Mexican restaurants. Cold food, wrong orders, lousy service and over charged.
Perfect overnight spot a comfortable drive from San Antonio. The sites are level but the hookups are on the wrong side. But close enough to connect without extensions. There are paid sites south of the horse shoe pits these are closer to the Ace Hardware (who carries Camco supplies). The park felt safe. It filled on a Thursday night.
This is a great place to stay. We weathered out a storm overnight. Found an easy to fill up gas station near by. Thank you Littlefield!!
