It's a parking lot with electric hookups. There's also a dump station and fresh water to fill your tank. They have a small fenced area for dogs but the town has many nice walking paths as well. It's convenient for visiting Bandelier, Valles Caldera and Jemez Springs since there is nothing else close by.
As mentioned, this is just a paved parking lot beside the Visitor Centre with electric. Dumster, dump station and potable water on site. All nearby campgrounds donot have electric, so this is a good option if power is required for heating/cooling needs.
Even Bandilier offers privative sites, no power and only some water. It's a pa king lot. Verizon is strong and the very nice visitor center which opens at 8:00 has nice bathrooms, no shower of course. Note this is NOT free. Pay with C.C. $20 a night. No breaks for seniors. The sites are paved with many pull through for larger units no water, no sewer but there is a dump station. The other nice thing the Bandilier shuttle picks up right in front making it easy to get to the park.
