We needed a stop-over to rest, didn't want to pay a lot but needed to get some sleep. Nice, clean park next to the river and a block from the falls, only $17 for large, level sites with water and electric (dump station on site). But it's also next to the highway, therefore. very noisy, heard the cars and felt the vibration of large trucks all night. Didn't sleep well at all. A sound barrier would be a great idea here.

Friendly check-in. Wide roomy sites. Well mowed grass between sites with lots of big trees. Clean picnic tables on concrete slabs. I would come back. The only other park in town is a Jellystone - nuff said there.

Very strange

Was planning on staying here for one night on our way through North Texas but when we pulled in there were many many very sketchy looking people along with some very strange looking RVs that look like many apartment buildings and there were power cords and water hoses going across all the roads and there was not one vacant spot that had power and water available they were all being taken by people across the street in any direction. Very very strange. We left and went to a different location.

Stayed overnight on our way through the area. Very nice, paved level spots. Our 35' motorhome had no problem manuvering, neither did larger rigs there. 30 and some 50 amp, good water pressure. Excellent walking, biking, trail over a swinging foot bridge to a large, quiet, family oriented park. Is close to the road, but the AC fan cancelled road noise. Would definitely stay here again.

Easy overnight

Clean, well lighted, easy access from highway. No signs of trouble. About 4 other rvs. Payment box next to sign at entrance.

Ran by the city of wichita falls, nice and clean concrete, fantastic trees. Find the information center on east bound side, go about 1/4 mile its right there. Careful, go slow you might miss it.

Loud and sketchy

We pulled up in our 40' MH plus toad about 10:30 pm. Pull-throughs were narrow and tough to stay on the pavement coming and going.
Worst thing was as soon as I set the brakes, a rough-looking gentleman blocked us in with a car and approached my window. He was obviously looking for an easy target to panhandle or rob... I told him to beat it or else as my young children cowered and my wife dialed 911. He left, but the Wichita Falls police never even sent an officer through the park... Their opinion was there was no crime. Had I not been armed and assertive the outcome may have been different. I stayed up a few hours to make sure he didn't return.
And, as a previous reviewer mentioned, it's super noisy and hard to sleep here. It's $17 to park here, you're better off ponying up a little more and parking somewhere safe and quiet.

It's a nice looking park, water and power seemed fine. But as another on this site and others on other sites stated there are shady people that walk up and ask for money. This one guy actually was knocking on rv doors and asking for gas money. We would not stay here again. We not once seen a police car patrol this park. We didn't feel safe at all. A camp host would solve this problem.

We stayed one night. Electric and water ok. Sites are part of the city wide bike trail. As we prepared to leave in morning, was also approached by people asking for money. They sit in visitor parking until you step outside, then they drive up. Sites are paved, but tight turns for 5th wheels and buses. Dump station hard to get to. Traffic noise from the multi lane highway (I 44) behind us.

Nice park, no beggars

I spent Saturday night here. There s a real nice park across the river. Walk across the suspension bridge and enjoy the concrete trails all around it. Saturday afternoon there were a few people enjoying the park. I didn t see one instance of people begging for money.

There is absolutely 0 truth to the scetchy reviews. Very nice and I am a solo traveler. I felt perfectly safe here. I wish more cities offered something like this. Thank you City of Whichita falls for providing this to folks traveling in Rvs

Fun to find

But once in the park. Only 1 other rv here. So many sites the pick from. It's a weird layout. You can pull thru either way and narrow lanes. I'm in a 35 class and toad I used the grass a bit to navigate. Right next to interstate but for 17.00 and 50 amp and water. Dump station on site.

Impersonator

We pulled in, found a spot and engine hadn t even cooled down when a black male in a white 4 door sedan pulled up in street clothes saying he was the park ranger and we needed to pay him. We reported him and left. I was glad to have finally made it to our stop for the day which had concrete pads, water and electricity only to have to continue on because everything else around was full.
